Rypkema is an economic consultant with Place Economics that reviewed in detail six Main Street communities and increased sustainability of Main Street districts. Kris will explain how those findings affect Chariton.
Kris graduated from North High School in Des Moines and attended Stevens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was project manager and company Director for Iowa Dance Theatre in Des Moines for eight years before becoming the owner of K Dance in Chariton for ten years. Kris was the Activity Director at Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center before becoming the Main Street Coordinator. She has been a member of the Rotary Club of Chariton for over 8 years.

A half of a candy bar might not seem like a big deal. But consider a child who needs the polio vaccine. Just think:
For the same price, you can save that child from polio through The Rotary Foundation.
And to you, it's no big deal. It's a better deal. Saving a life costs less than you think. Go to www.rotary.org/contribute

When you fill your gas tank or your cupboards using the newest Rotary International credit card, you'll be helping to eradicate polio and earning cash back on your purchases. The Visa Cash Rewards card, available to U.S. Rotarians and their friends and family members, gives users 3 percent cash back on gasoline, 2 percent on groceries, and 1 percent on all other purchases. And a portion of their charges goes to the End Polio Now campaign.
Since the RI affinity credit card program launched in 2000, it has brought in a total of US$8.1 million for The Rotary Foundation, including $3.1 million to support polio eradication. For details visit www.rotary.org (keyword search: credit card)
