Skylar Hobbs has been the Director for the Lucas County Conservation Board since June 1999.  He grew up in rural Runnels and graduated from Southeast Polk High School.  He did auto body work for 9 years before getting his Bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology with a focus on Aquatic Ecology at Iowa State University.

Sklyar currently lives in the country 5 miles south of Milo and has a 14 year old son and a 19 year old daughter.

Jodi Ahrenkiel has been a Naturalist/Conservation Tech for Lucas County Conservation Board since August of 2012. She was born and raised in southern Iowa and graduated from Seymour Community High School.  She received her AA and AS from Indian Hills Community College.  She transferred to Iowa State University where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Ecology and a focus on Interpretation of Natural Resources.  Since she graduated in 2009 she's been working in the county conservation field and has been with the Lucas County Conservation since August of 2012.

Cilia Maria Ruiz-Paz was born in 1985 in Barranquilla, Colombia, South America. When she was eight years old, her family moved to Fairfield, Iowa.  Cilia's introduction to the Rotary Club of Fairfield came in 2003 when she applied to become a Rotary Youth Exchange student and she landed in Mortagne-au-Perche, Normandy.  Cilia returned from France, graduated from Fairfield High School and attended Iowa State University where she acquired double majors in psychology and international studies, and double minors in criminal justice and French, while in the ISU Honors Program.  Her education and experiences led to her first professional position at the command center of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Washington.

She wishes to take her life experiences, language skills and social activism and apply them to advocate for peace. The skills acquired through a Rotary International Peace Fellowship will enhance her effectiveness as a peace and conflict resolution advocate in regards to solving conflicts related to resource allocation and exploitation at a global level.  Cilia will study at International Christian University in Japan with academic emphasis on international organization law and security.
