Doreen has 50/50 tickets for the Golf Outing and requested support selling them. 4) Mike Seidenfrau says a fellowship event/Club fundraiser will be held at the Growler & Gill on Sunday, October 22 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. 5) Doreen mentioned some items from the board meeting that occurred on Monday, 08/28: a) Raj is now attendance optional b) The Pearl River Rotary Club will be attending Pearl River Day on Sat, 10/07… ideas are needed c) Tee sponsorship at Golf Outing cost set at $150 d) RE: Club Finances (from Treasurer’s report): Aug income: $3,022.00 Expenses: $8,194.19 Net Balance: $8,890.46 August expenses included $2,794.14 for first half RI dues, and a transfer of $3,638.94 to the Club’s new Charitable Fund which represents the El Salvador balance. The District dues bill will be due soon and the second half of RI dues will be due in January. These will total roughly 5,700.00, leaving us a “free” balance of ~$3,100 Queen of Hearts: (with Ed the Fish) Ticket 5418144 was picked, but Ed Grant pulled the Jack of Hearts instead Happy Bucks: (with Doug Ward) -Joe Beckerle is back from Hawaii -Ed Grant is celebrating his 55th year in Rotary -George is happy his operation was successful -Michelle visited her in-laws in Florida and surprised them on their 50th Wedding Anniversary -Andy is grumbling that his vacation is ending this week Program: Bob Simon introduced WWII and Korean War Veteran Frank Fornario, who discussed real estate taxes, and stated that Orangetown has the highest equalization rate he has ever seen. He said that 50% of properties in Orangetown are assessed improperly, but warned that if you contest assessment, your assessment could be changed to a HIGHER amount.
