Last Weeks Speaker - Clemens Witt
Last week we had the pleasure of D9800 A
m
bassadorial Scholar Clemens Witt
speak at our meeting.
Clemens having grown up in West Berlin spoke about how he could still remember the Berlin Wall and when the Wall came down.
His speech highlighted some parts of the young German history: WW1, WW2, German Culture, Berlin Wall, Cold War etc.
He gave small stories which helped to understand German structure and Germany today.
We would like to thank Clemens very much for his time and most impressive and interesting presentation.
Pictured above-
Left President Mike Perry being handed a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall as a tokin of appreciation from Clemens Witt for having him speak at the Rotary Club of Albert Park meeting.
The Berlin Wall divided the country from 1961 to 1989.

Next Weeks Speaker - Paull Jeffrey
Paull Jeffrey "STATE MANAGER BLUEARTH FOUNDATION"
|
I am a primary trained teacher with a major in Physical Education. I have been at Bluearth for 10 years since it started and have been a coach, regional coordinator and now State Manager of Victoria. Before Bluearth I taught and played and coached cricket in UK for 3 years and travelled and also worked with Cricket Victoria for 5 yrs as a Development Officer. I'm a level 2 cricket coach and have coached senior cricket for 14 yrs and coached elite cricket squads past 5 yrs and have a passion for all types of sport and physical activity and enjoy coaching, teaching and assisting others of all ages.
In 2000, Australian businessman and philanthropist Malcolm Freake decided he wanted to contribute to the health and well being of our Nation by encouraging an increased participation in physical activity.
The Bluearth Approach was directed to the health and wellbeing of students, particularly primary school children. In 2005 we recognised that the best long term results could be achieved by training teachers as they spend the majority of time with these students. This resulted in the development of the Bluearth Teacher Professional Learning Program which has now seen more than 1100 teachers accredited.
