Wheels for March 29
by Julie Ontiveros

Christy May, the event chair for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life was our guest this week.
She shared that the event started in 1985 with just one person walking in Tacoma, Washington. It's been held in Amarillo for 10 years and proceeds support outreach, transportation to treatment, other resources for cancer patients and cancer research. In addition, the Relay offers a chance to meet others who have battled cancer and are passionate about fighting it. This annual event will be held in Amarillo on May 4 at the South YMCA. More info is available online: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=40627.

The City of Amarillo has a graffiti clean-up program for businesses and residences that encounter this issue. Just a release is required and they will take care of removing and painting over graffiti. This is a handy information item to pass along to others who may require the service.

Round of applause this week to:
President John Early
for presiding.
David O'Dell and Gay Chalfant for leading us in song.
Cal Harriman for providing the invocation and some food for thought.
Dale Bippus and Steve Clark for their welcome.
Rocky Gafford for serving as March Program Chair and providing pizza.

John Skaggs for introducing guests and visiting Rotarians.
Basil Walker for selling Foundation tickets.
