Did you know that there are SEVEN different councils within the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce? Jason Harrison, VP of Governmental Affairs for the Amarillo Chamber, told us about the different ways to get involved in the Chamber. These councils include Membership, Women's Council, Quality of Life, Convention/Visitor's Council, Agriculture, Governmental Affairs, and Business Council. There are many projects that each of these councils produce, including Business Connection, Panhandle Days, Mega Market Speed Connect, among SO many more. There is definitely something for everyone at the Amarillo Chamber. He also mentioned the "Top 20 Under 40" awards. If you know a young professional who has exhibited personal and professional achievement, and who is involved in the community, please nominate them for this award! Thanks, Jason!
OK, we're down to single digits in the card count for the Rotary Foundation drawing. The pot contains some serious money, well over $3,000. Remember, if your ticket is drawn, and you pull the Ace of Spades out of the dramatically diminished deck, you get to pocket half of what's in the pot. The other half, of course, goes toward the Foundation and helps fund its great work around the world.
Our numbers are growing!. We welcomed the newest member of the Rotary Club of Amarillo this week! Donna Sims introduced Scott Ballard, classification Telecommunications, to the group. Scott is a native of Amarillo. Welcome to the club, Scott!
