Wheels for May 24 by Julie Ontiveros
We learned more about water today from Scott Honeyfield, VP of Parkhill, Smith and Cooper, Inc. as he discussed "City of Amarillo, Potter County Well Field and Transmission Pipeline" Parkhill, Smith & Cooper is a full-service design firm that provides engineering and architectural design primarily in the public sector or with public entities, such as municipal infrastructure, education, healthcare and transportation. Scott shared the process of planning and developing the well field for City of Amarillo. Average water usage is 44-45 million gallons per day in the city with a high peak of 91 million gallons per day in the heat of summer. The City worked with PSC and the Texas Water Development Board to offset funding and saved over $9 million on this project.
