Bell Ringers...Ring Your Bells!
Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, Major Harvey Johnson of the Salvation Army has been with The Salvation Army for 35 years. Since 1865, the Salvation Army has worked to meet human needs and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. They do that in a number of ways including, 3 shelters in Amarillo (Men, Women, Family), disaster services, volunteer training, emergency assistance, services to youth, and a chapel near Amarillo College. While their main facilities are located at 4th and Harrison, you will find Bell Ringers (including Rotarians) during the Christmas season all over town with their red kettles. The Angel Tree is another popular project at this time of year and you are encouraged to pick up an Angel Tree tag to provide for a child in need in Amarillo. The Salvation Army serves in 126 countries worldwide. The Raffle is over and we have a winner! Mr. Randall Renfroe of Allstate Security is the winner of our $1,000 VISA card drawing. The winning ticket was sold by Dale Elliott.
Congratulations to Amy Luchay, who was officially adopted today by Rotarian Jamie Luchay!

Mel received his blue badge today!
Annual Boys Ranch Christmas Presentation: Our club
has a tradition of hosting the choir from Boys Ranch every year. Participation requires
a great deal of commitment in the form of time and preparation by all of the
children. This important event also marks
what may be the only time that they get to visit our club. Help us to affirm the significance of the
event and the season by making a Christmas donation for the benefit of all kids
who live at the ranch. Checks should be
made payable to The Rotary Club of
Amarillo and a single check will be presented to Boys Ranch at the annual
presentation on December 13th.
Jerky for the Troops!:
The club distributed sign-up sheets on each table for Melvin Edes' beef
jerky for our troops. The cost is $7.00 per bag and Gina can bill you. Our own Mr. Melvin covers the cost of
shipping all jerky overseas.
