Kelley Competes in the Global Gas Transportation Market

Member Wes Knapp of Kelley Leasing Partners, LLC presented a program about Kelley's new Gas Transportation Module (GTM) product.
Located in Amarillo, Kelley fabricates the high pressure vessels in accordance with DOT specifications and guidelines. GTM is a member of the Kelley Family of Companies whom, along with Jack B. Kelley, Inc. and Specialty Trailer Leasing, have been the leading gas transport solutions provider since 1946. Their proprietary GTM intermodal gas transport system, a 3,250 psig module, is capable of loading and transporting an average of 30% more product per load than conventional 2,400 psig transportation systems. This 30% increase in pressure capacity enables GTM modules to be the most efficient and cost effective mode of transportation for specialty gas on the market today.

The GTM modules are DOT compliant and approved for the transport of compressed natural gas, nitrogen, ethane, helium and hydrogen to name a few. The vessels are constructed from steel pipe, formed and machined heads are precision welded to our pipe. The vessels are then wrapped with resin infused fiberglass to maximize strength, reduce weight and increase transport capacity. The finished nine cylinder configuration is then mounted in a frame, installed inside a specially modified ISO container. Each manufacturing step is monitored and tested to ensure the highest quality and safest product possible. The GTM module has revolutionized the world of gas transport by offering faster, lighter and more efficient transportation. GTM modules can also be acquired at costs less than traditional gas transport systems. This new technology will keep Kelley Leasing, LLC at the forefront of gas transporting throughout the United States and around the world for the foreseeable future.

Save the Date: The club Christmas Party will be held on December 6th at the Amarillo Club. Drinks will be served at 6:30pm and dinner will be served at 7:00pm. More details to follow.

Annual Boys Ranch Christmas Presentation: Our club has a tradition of hosting the choir from Boys Ranch every year. Participation requires a great deal of commitment in the form of time and preparation by all of the children. This important event also marks what may be the only time that they get to visit our club. Help us to affirm the significance of the event and the season by making a Christmas donation for the benefit of all kids who live at the ranch. Checks should be made payable to The Rotary Club of Amarillo and a single check will be presented to Boys Ranch at the annual presentation on December 13th.

Christmas Continued: The club distributed sign-up sheets on each table for Melvin Edes' beef jerky for our troops. The cost is $7.00 per bag and Gina can bill you. Our own Mr. Melvin covers the cost of shipping all jerky overseas.

Rotary Foundation raffle tickets have been distributed to all members. Tickets are $10 each and checks should be made out to the Rotary Club of Amarillo. The drawing will be held on November 15th and members can sell tickets until the drawing. The winner will receive a $1,000 gift card, the Rotarian that sells the most will receive $500 and the person who sells the winning ticket will receive $500. Proceeds will go to a local charity to be decided.

Jeff Busjahn, Dusty Sloan and Mel Darnell attended a fire side chat with Club President, Renee Wilson, Past President, John Early, and Past District Governor, David Norris. The group enjoyed hamburgers, chips, baked beans, salad, and ice cream with chocolate cake for dessert. The evening was filled with interesting facts and amazing examples for what has recently occurred within Rotary International. They also learned about the Rotary Foundation and received confirmation that there is something for everyone in Rotary. Renee even supplied a map of District 5730 which helped us visualize the expanse it covers from Stratford to Sweetwater then Pecos back to Perryton. Thanks to our club leaders for making this a memorable and informative evening.

Sincere appreciation to the following for their contribution of time this week:
Club President, Renee Wilson for presiding.
David O'Dell and the Kings (Jason Vest, Michael Scarcelle and Leon Turner from Amarillo Opera's production of Amahl and the Night Visitors for leading us in song.
John Kanelis for providing the invocation.
Dale Bippus and Jeff Neely for greeting us.
Jamie Luchay for introducing guests and visiting Rotarians.
David Johnson for serving as November program chair.
Basil Walker for manning the Foundation ticket sales and to Melvin Edes for his gift of Beef Jerky for our drawing and to Rocky Gafford for providing another wonderful pizza prize!
