Interact Club

     Interact members visiting today are as follows:  Emily Donahue, Kristin Hoysradt, and Jordan Bragg.  Emily spoke today about her future plans.

     No makeups were reported today 

 

Happy Thoughts

     John Dugger was happy to report his dad is feeling better.  John was also happy to see his gardener show up to his house for the first time this year,  a sure sign of spring.

    Scott Chernov was happy that John Dugger's last happy thought made as much sense as many of his (Scott's).

     Mike Linquata was happy to back from wintering in Florida.

     Don Sudbay Jr. and his wife Jeannie were happy to announce their purchase of the Cape Ann Bowling Center on Gloucester Avenue.  Congrats to the Sudbays on their new venture.

 

Anniversaries & Birthdays

    A birthday was celebrated by Steve Dexter today.  Fran Mondello is celebrating 32 "wonderful" years of marriage.

Fines

    Ruth Pino got a meter fine.

    Steve Kaity forgot the "new member packets" for new members who were sworn in today.

    Scott Chernov was fined for not showing up for his assigned time at Shaws.

    President David fined all the bankers for sitting together.

    The next Rotary Moment will be given by Tom Consolati followed by the week after by Mike Costello.

 

Club News

    President David swore in two new member, attorney Sal Fronterio, and Standard Electric employee Neil Mathews.  Please take a minute to welcome Sal and Neil, and introduce yourself.

    Save the Date!  May 22 is the date for our own Chief Jim Marr to have his retirement party at Woodmans in Essex.  Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., dinner at 7, and a presentation at 8.  Tickets are 40 dollars each and are available by calling Acting Chief Mike McLeod at 978-281-9775 or stop by W. E.  Blachards on Main Street.


Winners and Losers... No one won the beverage of choice.  David McKechnie won the money and donated it to the Big Brother Organization, and Joe Parisi won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 

Speakers....  Ruth Pino introduced our guest speakers today.  Jim Waddell and Tracy Stanley from the Big Brother, Big Sister Organization.  Jim spoke about what the organization does on Cape Ann, and Tracy spoke about the infrastructure that is in place to recruit Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

 

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on salad and pot roast.  The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the dinners suggested the meal was just fine.
