Visiting Rotarians

Oscar Padjen from the Topsfield Club, and John Thompson from the Rockport Club were visiting today.

Guests of Rotarians

John Dugger had his daughter, Sam, as his guest today.  Ruth Pino had Kathy Ciluffo, our guest speaker, as her guest today.

Interact Club

Interact members did not visit today due to school vacation.

Makeups

Charlene DuBois had a make up in Rockport.

Happy Thoughts

Jon Morse was happy to see his son running the Boston Marathon and completing the course.

John Dugger was happy to have his father on the mend, but unhappy that now his mom is in the hospital.

Jim Marr was happy that the "empty table" was in the rear of the room today. Jim Marr was also happy that Bob O'Maley was back this week.

Barry Pett was  happy to deliver more Girl Scout cookies to returing troops when they land at Westover Air Force Base on their way home.  The cookies, as always, are a hit.

President David was happy to have his photo "of a younger and much cuter little David" in an Easter window display at Blanchards.

Scott Chernov gave his compliments to the chef for our lunch today.  Plus, dessert too!

Greg Bover was happy to have electricity back on at C. B. Fisk.  Greg is under the impression that having electrictiy at the plant increases productivity.  Greg was happy to hear today that Bagdad will have electricity in the next 24 hours.

Charlie Foster gave congrats to Barry Pett for making a good Easter Bunny at several functions in Gloucester.  Barry, we all know your are a good actor everyday.

Mike Gigliotti was happy to have heard from his grandson (collect form Bagdad) that he is well and is busy collecting looters as an MP.

Anniversaries & Birthdays

Steve Dexter and Tony Verga celebrated their birthdays today.

Fines

President David fined Howard Frisch for not coming to Rotary on April 15;  CPA's Jon Morse and Jim Perry managed to make the meeting.

Presiden David fined Oscar Padgen just for being such a "handsome man".  Oscar has been making up at our club for many years and has managed to stay under the fine radar.  Oscar, today was your day!

Don Sudbay Jr. and Sinikka Nogelo were fined $20.00 for not turning in their Sweepstake tickets.

John Dugger was also fined for being under the fine radar.  The fine was given by daughter Sam.

John Thompson was also fined for some tickets.

Bob O'Maley was fined for a math error in totaling the attendance.

Vacations

Steve and Dawn Dexter spent 12 days in Paris.  Steve reports that crowds were not a problem during the 12 day visit.

A Rotary Moment

The next Rotary Moment will be given by Alex Dellis for the fourth week, followed by the week after by Charlene DuBois.

Club News

Shirley Conway has given me a list of guest speakers for May; they are as follows:  Kathy Bliss on May 6, Business Meeting on May 13, Nancy Schwoyer on May 20, and ROTC on May 27th.

Board of Directors meeting will be held on May 6th at Gortons.

May 10 and 17 are the days to paint the bandstand.  The 17th will be the "cleanup day".

Winners and Losers... No one  won the beverage of choice.  Rick Doucette  won the money, which he donated to the foodbank, and Cayte Ward won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

Speakers.... Ruth Pino introduced our guest speaker today, Kathy Ciluffo.  Kathy runs a human resource consulting firm.

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on chicken soup and a turkey  roll-up with dessert..  The dinners at my table gave the food 4 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the dinners suggested leaving the croutons out of the roll up.
