     Club News

The Shop'til You Drop fundraiser is off and running.  Please plan on working the Rotary table at Shaw's Eastern Avenue or Railroad Avenue.  Supplies are kept on location, just take a minute to sign up with Steve Kaity or Leo Bergeron,  or just drop by, check with the store manager,  and start selling whenever you have some free time.  The drawing date is April 30, and the drawing location will be the Gloucester Pride Stride event at Good Harbor Beach.  The shopping spree will be on May 13 at the Eastern Avenue Shaw's at 6:30 in the morning, yes 6:30 am.  The fundraiser is one of our largest, we need participation from all members.  The Stage Fort Park Playground Re-Construction Project will benefit from the money raised.

May 6 (Saturday) is the date for us to assemble to maintain the band stand at Stage Fort Park.   This "sprucing up the bandstand" is a yearly event.  The job involves scraping paint, painting, and landscape work.  Members can come for an hour, early or late, just plan on helping out, please!  The work is done in the morning and is completed by noon.

May 13th is the date for the Rotary Track Meet being held at Beverly High School.  The meet is usually held in Gloucester, but the GHS field is wet so the meet is  going to be held in Beverly.   Rotarians are needed to help out with running the event.  Please see George Roark, who is coordinating the event.

May 17 is Paul Harris Dinner this year.  Please join us in honoring Jon Morse, Charlie Foster, and a player to be named by the Interact Club.  Save the date! Check with Joe Parisi to sign up.  New members- this is a very important evening for the club, please come stag, with a spouse or significant other, just make sure you attend. No regular meeting will be held on May 16th due to the Paul Harris Dinner.

May 20 is the day for the First Parish Cemetery Cleanup.  The club has taken to cleaning up  this historic cemetery located on Centennial Avenue.  Bruce Horne heads up this project, please see him to sign up.

Remember please, President Jim has asked that every member participate in  at least one of these club events.

June 6 at 6 PM is the date and time for the last Director's Meeting in President Jim's year.  The meeting is very significant in that the funds we have all been raising this year are disbursed by the club's directors.  The evening will be a pot luck supper. Board Members and  spouses or significant others are encouraged to attend.  The location is Casa Ciolino, 28 High Popples Road. Check with President Jim for details.
