Club News
Thank You Charlene Glynn for taking notes for this weeks Rotator!
I have received news that one of our active retired members passed away on Easter Sunday morning in Florida. Fred Hoffman was a member for many years and a club Past President in 1990-91.
Fred started up the Trust Department of the Cape Ann Savings Bank and was a well respected financial annalist. Retiring to Florida, Fred would spend the month of August in Gloucester visiting our club. Last summer due to his illness he could not make the trip for the first time. I sent him the Rotator every week and he appreciated the updates.
Last July Fred called and wished me good luck in my term as the new club president and he also informed me that he wanted to make a generous donation to the Stage Fort Park Playground.
I have sent a message to Fred's wife, who is also in a hospital, to ask what charity the club can send a memorial to. I will let you know when I hear.
Stage Fort Park Centennial Project
Please consider signing on as a sponsor of our Centennial Project - The Stage Fort Park Playground Sponsor Levels include - Gold Sponsorship, $1000 will purchase a picnic table, Sliver -$650 will purchase a bench, and Bronze - $400 will purchase a tree. All sponsors will be acknowledged on a display at the playground.
Winners and Losers... Charlene Glynn won the beverage of choice. Pat Thorpe won the money, and Todd Tanger won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... President Joe presented a framed letter to Ruth Goodick establishing the W. Herbert Goodick Vocational Scholarship in memory of our old and dear friend Herb Goodick. Jim Marr said some words of remembrance and presented Ruth a bouquet of flowers. Herb's son and daughter were also in attendance.
Lunch Rating... Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on spinach, roasted pepper and asparagus quiche and Sunday dessert. The dinners at my table gave the food 5+ stars.
