Interact Club

 

The Interact club members present are: Juniors, Louisa Brown, Kayla Burke, and Vice President Emily Doucette.  Emily spoke today about her future plans after high school.

 

Makeups

 

No makeups were reported today.

Rotarians can now make up online. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org and allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup. Make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your online makeup, and give your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

Maggi Rosa celebrated her birthday today.  No anniversaries were reported today.

 

Vacations

Rick Doucette spent 3 days in Coco Beach, Florida. Mike Costello spent 5 days in Pennsylvania.

 

Happy Thoughts

Brad Pierce was happy our newly planted trees in the Rotary traffic island are starting to bloom.  Steve Dexter was happy 124 people became newly minted US citizens during a swearing in ceremony at Gloucester City Hall. Julie Geary had an Interact happy thought.  Rick Doucette was happy that the long planned YMCA trip to New Orlean's Saint Bernard Parish is finally here.  John Dugger gave a courtesy warning that his daughter Sam is now licensed to drive a car.  Julie LaFontaine is happy  her daughter is celebrating her 21st birthday.  Tom Dexter was happy  his child has been nominated to Phi Beta Kappa, and has the honor of being the youngest nominee.  Christopher Farmer is happy he is finally going to have his knee surgery.  Greg Bover is happy to have sold his boat.

 

Fines

President Ruth fined Rotarians who did not see the large Massachusetts State Highway Rotary sign that was lifted (borrowed) by Brad Pierce for our first lunch meeting at Cruiseport.  (Just a point of information -  Brad did return it to its fallen position under some trees at Grant Circle.)  Members who did not attend the Spaghetti Supper were fined.  Rotarians who did not car pool today were fined.  Rudy Macchi was fined for being RudyMike Costello was fined for answering Rudy's question.  President Ruth fined Rotarians who have not had a guest to a Rotary meeting the past year.  Sheree DeLorenzo was fined for not having her birthday listed on the club website.  (Sheree has listed her birthday now!)  Sheree also paid several photo fines.

Tom Alves is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, David Slade is first backup, Scott Smith is the second backup, and the third backup is Kim Spaner. Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.

Winners and Losers: Mike Sarraf gave the Rotary Moment today.  Brad Pierce won the $10.00, Don Sudbay Jr.  won the flowers, and no winners in the card raffle.

Speaker today: Josh Arnold introduced our speaker,  Mary Halpin from the Arthritis Walk to be  scheduled in  May.
