Happy Thoughts
Scott Chernov was again on the Don Sudbay band wagon.
Barry Pett was happy to be celebrating the tenth anniversary of his back surgery.
Barry was also happy to have the Pops Concert go off so successfully (despite the rain!).
Dennis Acker was the proud daddy and displayed a calendar in which his daughter Maya was featured in a large pumpkin. Maya is, of course, the baby for the month of October.
Dennis Acker was also happy Citizens Bank awarded Wellspring House a $25,000 grant.
Bruce Horne was happy to announce that Gorton's has opened up a new web site called Gorton's Fresh Seafood .com.
Julie Sidon was happy her farm maple syrup won second place in a Connecticut competition.
Anniversaries & Birthdays
Greg Bover is celebrating 25 year of marriage today. Sue Todd was happy to be celebrating 33 "wonderful years" of marriage
Joe and Joan Ciolino are celebrating starting their 13th year in business at the Weathervane.
Fines
President Greg fined Alex Dellis for a ice cube mess he made at lunch today.
Fines were issued to Rotarians who did not wear socks, and/or their Rotary pins today.
Ruth Pino, George Roark, and Mary Black were fined for being late.
Joe Parisi was fined for being in the Boston Globe.
Vacations
Alex Delis spent a week in New Hampshire.
David McKechnie spent on week on Lake Winnipesaukee with a broken boat and torrential rains.
Jim McKenna spent a happy week at home bonding with his new baby boy.
Leo Bergeron was happy to spend 2 weeks at home on vacation.

Club News
The Gloucester vs. Rockport Rotary Golf Outing is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 11th at 1pm at the Rockport Golf Club. The cost is yet to be determined. Please sign up with Bruce Horne.
Winners and Losers... No won the beverage of choice. George Roark won the money, and Sue Todd won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Bob Ryan introduced our guest speaker today, Heidi Dallin from the Gloucester Stage Company. Heidi talked about the history of the stage company and also about her own career.
Lunch Rating... Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on chicken caesar rollup with french fries.. The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars. When asked what would improve the meal the dinners suggested meal was just fine.
