Interact Club

    Interact members are on summer vacation.

 

Makeups

     Mark Grenier made up in Rockport. 

    Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     No birthdays were reported today.  Greg Bover is celebrating  30 "wonderful" years of marriage to Frances Finch.  John Dugger is celebrating 10 years as a Rotarian.  Christopher Farmer is celebrating 6 years of being the Superintendent of the Gloucester Schools. Christopher is also celebrating his 5th wedding anniversary.  Ruth Pino is remembering the 41st anniversary of first meeting her husband.  Bruce Horne is celebrating 30 years in the employment of Gorton's of Gloucester.  Sam Micelle was celebrating 45 years in the Gloucester Rotary Club. 

 

Vacations

      Pat Thorpe spent some time on Nantucket and New Hampshire.  Bruce Horne went to Newport.  Ray LaMont went to New Jersey for 3 days,and   Rudy Macchi also went to New Jersey last week.  Mark Grenier went to Florida for 7 days and also spent 4 days in Allentown, Pennsylvania  Ruth Pino had a small vacation by not going into the office for 6 days.  Don Sudbay Jr. went to Lake George.  Christopher Farmer went to Pennsylvania, and then to Ireland and Wales. 

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

    Brad Pierce was happy to once again showcase his golf skills in yet another tournament.  Bill Flygare was happy to welcome his fifth grandchild into his family. Pat Thorpe was happy to announce the name change for his bank - now known as  Bank Gloucester.  Rudy Macchi was happy to have won $680 at Mohegan Sun.  Joe Parisi was happy to be able to catch the District Governor's speech on cable.  Jim Marr was happy Charlie Foster  is back on board.   Ruth Pino was happy to have spent the week with her sisters. 

 

 Fines

    Bill Flygare was fined 8 dollars for the birth of his newest grandsonPresident Sinikka gave out photo fines to Carol SharoffBruce Horne and Mike Costello. 

  

  Club News

 .     President Sinikka presented Harry Miller, representing the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, a check for $500.00 from our annual disbursements.  Coral Grande was presented a check from Ruth Pino.  The check for $1681.00 was the Senior Center's share of the proceeds from the Seagate Dinner held last spring. 

       David Babson is at home recuperating from recent surgery.

 

 ABC of Rotary Moment

    

     Julie LaFontane is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary MomentKevin McAveeney is first backup, David McKechnie, is the second backup, and the third backup is Jon Morse. Please have your   ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 

    


Winners and Losers...   Ray Lamont  gave an ABC of Rotary Moment.  Charlie Foster  won the money, and someone won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 


Speakers....  Dan Ottenheimer introduced today's speaker, fellow Rotarian Roger Corbin. Roger's company mapped out the harbor lines a few years ago.  Roger talked about the process. 

 

 

 



The Rotary International Theme for 2008-2009
