    Bob and Barbara Ellis were visiting from the Rockport Club. 

 

Guests of Rotarians

    John Dugger had Tracy Ciou as his guest.  Tracy, who is a guest of the Boston Rotary Club, is  visiting from Taiwan and stayed a few days with the Duggers.  Joe Ciolino had  David Marsh as his guest today.  Greg Bover had his wife, Frances, as his guest today.  Steve Kaity had daughter Kathy and High School Principal Joe Sullivan as his guests. 

 

Interact Club

     Interact members are on summer vacation. 

 

Makeups

      No makeups were reported by Rotarians today.

     Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     No birthdays were reported today.  Greg and Francis Bover are celebrating  29 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Dan Ottenheimer was happy to be celebrating the 5th anniversary of his consulting business . 

 

Vacations

      Jim Perry went to Boothbay Harbor, David McKechnie went to Y camp on Lake Winnipesaukee.  David Sullivan went to Annapolis for five days. 

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

    Brad Pierce was happy to announce the birth of a grandson, and his new namesake. Sinikka Nogelo was happy Dave Sullivan put together a new website for the new cable concern, Cape Ann TVJohn Dugger was happy to have been awarded the LBI (Last Boat In)  award at the Salem Yacht Club race. Barbara and Bob Ellis were happy to be going to Africa for 25 days.  Jim Perry was happy his daughter Christina is engaged to be married.  Greg Bover was happy to have hosted the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Cultural Council  at C.B. Fisk Co.for the day.  Tracy Ciou was happy the Boston Rotary Club, especially member Wilson Lee, gave her the opportunity to visit Boston.  Tracy won a contest in Taiwan for the best English speaking student in her district. 

 

 Fines

     Jim Marr, John Rando, and Joe Parisi all paid assorted bird fines.  Don Sudbay was fined for his vibrating blackberry.  Rudy was fined for being Rudy, and for tasting someone else's chowder.  Josh Arnold was fined for not supplying the President with a joke for today.  Dave Stotzer was fined about a wedding photo.

President Bruce gives Kathy Kaity a check for the Gloucester High School Drama Club.  Proud daddy Steve looks on. 

 

 

Save the Date:      Comedy Show will be on August 30th.

 

District Governor, Julia Phelps will be at our October 2nd meeting.                  

 

 ABC of Rotary Moment

    

     Joe Parisi is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary Moment, Jim Perry is first backup, and Barry Pet is the second backup, third backup is Brad Pierce.  Please have your   ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 


Winners and Losers...  Sinikka Nogelo and Dan Ottenheimer gave an ABC of Rotary Moment.  Joe Ciolino won the money, and Steve Kaity won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.


Speakers....  Roger Corbin and Sergey Zemlyanski both gave their classification speeches. 

Steve Kaity introduced our guest speaker for today, Dr. Joe Sullivan, Principal of the Gloucester High School. Dr. Sullivan updated us on what is happening at the school.
