Visiting Rotarians

       Peter Anderson was visiting from the Rockport Club today.    

 

Guests of Rotarians

       Catherine Henry's guest was Dr. Cynthia Bjorlie, Director of the Adult Foster Care Program.    

 

Interact Club

       Interact members are on summer school break.

    

 

Makeups

       No make ups were reported today.

     

Happy Thoughts

        Josh Arnold was happy to have launched a new website.

        Rick Doucette announced that he got engaged to be married this week.  Congrats to Rick and the future Mrs. Doucette.

        David Stotzer was happy that David Slade is finally a member of the Gloucester Rotary Club.  Dave has been urging David to join for years.

        Charlie Foster was happy the Pancake Breakfast went very well this year.

        Ruth Pino was happy to have men cook pancakes for her breakfast.

        Joe Parisi was happy that Mary Black's son George revealed his mother's weight.  George is making the claim that he is so strong he can lift his mom.

        Joe Ciolino was happy that his race for Ward 1 City Council is uncontested this November.

    

Anniversaries & Birthdays

      George Roark is celebrating 37 "wonderful" years of marriage. Carole Sharoff is also celebrating 11 "wonderful " years of marriage.

    

Fines

        Acting President Joe Ciolino fined David McKechnie for tossing around a valuable blueberry.

        David Stozer was fined for impersonating the Club Photographer at a Rotary function.

        Bob Ryan was fined for winning a golf tournament ( $ ) at Bass Rocks.  Congrats Bob!

        Rotarians who did not work the Pancake Breakfast were fined.  

        Rotarians who did not wear their Rotary pins were also fined, in honor of President Greg. 

 

Vacations

        Karl Muench spent a week camping in Maine.

       Steve Dexter went to Great Barrington, Massachusetts.  Steve was very impressed to have taken in a performance at the "Tom Consolati Performing Arts Center." Yes, this is the same Tom Consolati we all know!

           

A Rotary Moment

    The next Rotary Moment will be given by Neil Mathews, followed by the week after by Dave McArdle.

Club News

     Thank you to Charlene for taking notes while I ran the meeting on Tuesday.

     David Slade was inducted into Rotary today.  Please take the time to welcome David.

     The Gloucester vs. Rockport Golf Outing is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 11th at 1 pm at the Rockport Golf Club.  The cost is yet to be determined.  Please sign up with Bruce Horne.  Ringers remotely associated with our club have been accepted in the past.  This is a must-win competition with Rockport.

 


Winners and Losers... Josh Arnold (never received his beverage) won the beverage of choice.  Tony Corrao won the money, and Cheryl Collins won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 

Speakers.... Catherine Henry introduced our guest speaker, Dr. Cynthia Bjorlie, Director of Adult Foster Care Program.  

 

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on salad and pasta.  The dinners at my table gave the food 4 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the dinners suggested larger portions.
