Scott Chernov celebrated his birthday today. Carole Sharoff is celebrating her 13th wedding anniversary; Sue Todd celebrated 35 years, Leo Bergeron celebrated 25 years, and Dave Stotzer is celebrating 1 year (seems much longer!) of wedding bliss. Joe Parisi celebrated his 23 year anniversary working at the Building Center. Ruth Pino is celebrating her 6th anniversary with Carlson Realty.
Vacations
Bob Ellis spent 2 months in Ireland. Cheryl Collins had a Rockport vacation. David McKechnie spent time at a YMCA family camp, Gaye Brown went to York Beach, and David Olson went to Mystic Connecticut.
Happy Thoughts
Bob Ellis was happy to have attended his first Pancake Breakfast. Roger Armstrong was happy with how the pancake breakfast is so well run. Sue Todd now has the dubious claim to fame of being only the second woman in our club's history worthy enough to flip pancakes.Charlene Glynn was happy to be back after her maternity leave of absence. Carole Sharoff was happy to have Charlene back at the club. Brad Pierce was happy his life experiences have all contributed to him working the beer truck at the Waterfront Festival. Tony Corrao was happy that all the Rotary Banners made there way safely back home after the breakfast. John Dugger was happy to catch his first blue fish of the summer. Cheryl Collins was happy to be closing on house number 2. Joe Parisi was happy to have the Planning Board sign off on the Riverdale Housing Development. Greg Bover was happy to be on a cruise. Charlie Foster was happy the Pancake Breakfast went so well. Scott Chernov was happy he had some family visiting last week. Cheryl Collins was happy that her plumber is back. David McKechnie was happy that his team ( The Dodgers) won the Little League World Series. Ruth Pino was happy her family was in town to enjoy the beaches and the shopping.
Fines
Scott Chernov was fined for not paying attention to a stop sign at our local Stop and Shop parking lot. Scott was also fined for mentioning the Cape Ann Bowling Lanes.
Club News
Dates to Remember.... September 6, no regular meeting is scheduled . (Nor will the board meet that day.) September 29th is the Past President's Dinner to be held in the Harbor Room at 8 Norwood Court ( off East Main Street). Please check the calendar section of our web site for more details on the above events.
President Jim gave a club award to Seaside Glass for all their help in making up screens for the bandstand. Connie Moceri accepted on behalf of the owners of Seaside Glass. Don Sudbay Jr. was happy to hand over a check to Sue Todd, CEO of Pathways for Children.
Winners and Losers... David Kenny won the beverage of choice. Matthew Langis won the money, and David Olsen won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Shirley Conway introduce our guest speaker today, Stephen Laverty, CEO of Northeast Health System. Mr.. Laverty spoke about the state of the health care system in Massachusetts.
