Missed and Missing... Shirley Conway, John Dugger, Ann Margaret Ferrante, Mark Grenier, Julie LaFontaine, David McKechnie, Marc Sandler, David Sullivan and  Becky Sumner. Today's attendance is 43 present with 10 makeups out of 54 members for an average of 80%.

Interact Club

     Interact members are on summer vacation. 

 

Makeups

      Carole Sharoff, Tony Corrao, President Bruce, Cheryl Aparo, Sinikka Nogello, Ruth Pino, Joe Parisi, Barry Pett, Josh Arnold, and Jon Morse all made up at the last board meeting. 

     Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     Rick Doucette celebrated his birthday today.  Ruth Pino and husband Richard are celebrating the anniversary of their first meeting many, many moons ago.  Christopher Farmer was happy to be celebrating his fourth anniversary as Gloucester Superintendent of Schools. David Babson was happy to attend the 190th reunion of the Babson family at the old homestead on Nugent's stretch. 

 

Vacations

    David Kenney vacationed in Seabrook, New Hampshire.  Dave Stotzer vacationed in Wisconsin.  Kevin McAveeney went to Martha's Vineyard.  John Rando went to Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and   Brad Pierce went to Vermont. Steve Kaity went to New Jersey, President Bruce went to Newport, Don Sudbay Jr., went to Philadelphia and Colorado. 

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

    David Babson was happy to be going to Juneau, Alaska, to meet his daughter who just completed a solo kayak trip from Seattle to Juneau.  Roger Armstrong was happy to have his house remolding underway, and is very happy to  be leaving for 2 weeks sailing in the Bahamas.Dave Stotzer was happy the new home of Cape Ann Photography is being framed up.  Dan Ottenheimer was happy to have purchased a new car from Sudbay's and wrote a poem to commemorate the occasion.  Sinikka Nogelo was happy she now has a much more friendly phone system (as compared to Comcast?)  David Slade was happy one of his daughters is visiting.  Jim Marr was happy to put his phone on vibrate in order to stop the phantom phone dialer who resides (lurks?) amongst the membership.  Jim's only request is to not hang up so quickly.  Tracy O'Neil was happy to have survived her high school reunion.  Ruth Pino also went to the reunion, and Ruth was also happy that her sister was in town visiting.  Dom Nicastro was happy to announce that he is engaged to be married.  Dom was also happy his future father-in-law is recovering nicely from a stroke.  Dom explained his engagement did not actually cause his father-in-law's stroke, it was just a coincidence.

 

 Fines

     Dave Stotzer was fined by President Bruce for conducting business during a meeting.  Dave passed Dom a business card for his photography service for Dom's upcoming nuptials.  Rudy was fined for being RudyJoe Parisi was fined for reminding the members of a lecture being held at the Heritage House (assisted living facility) on Birds of Essex CountyTony Corrao was fined for the bird test he put on the tables, and the fact that Tony could not identify a majority of the birds pictured.  Steve Dexter, Don Sudbay and Rick Doucette were fined for a photo in the GDT's,  Brad Pierce was fined for a photo (left) that resurrected itself showing him and Miss Massachusetts back in the 90's.....what is Brad smiling about? Tony Corrao was fined for an email violation.  Jim Marr was fined for pretending to go camping in a luxury trailer.  

    

    Club News

   Rick Isaacs was given a check for the Fish Box Derby to be held on September 9th at 12:00 PM.

      Sal Frontiero, YMCA Board President,  accepted a check for the YMCA.

 

Save the Date:     

Pancake Breakfast will be on Saturday, August 18th. Please sign up for a shift.

         

Comedy Show will be on August 30th. Tickets are $25.00 per person. 

 

District Governor, Julia Phelps will be at our October 2nd meeting.                      

 

 ABC of Rotary Moment

    

     Sinikka Nogelo is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary Moment, Don Ottenheimer, is first backup, and Joe Parisi, is the second backup, third backup is Jim Perry.  Please have your   ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 

    


Winners and Losers...  Dom Nicastro gave an ABC of Rotary Moment.  Joe Ciolino won the money, and Mike Sarraf won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.
