Birthdays and Anniversaries

Julie LaFontaine is celebrating 23 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Greg Bover is celebrating 31  "wonderful" years of marriage.

Vacations

Jim Cooke takes the prize this week for the biggest non-vacation.  Jim took 5 children to Story Land in New Hampshire  - in the heat of the summer.  (I have been told that Jim has a high threshold for pain and this vacation proves it. ) Bruce Horne went to Newport, Rhode Island.  Brad Pierce went to New Hampshire.  Mat Langis went to Buffalo, New York.  Chris Costello went to Lost Wages East, AKA Mohegan Sun.  Mike Costello went to New Hampshire for 8 days.  Julie LaFontaine went to Walpole, New Hampshire.

Happy Thoughts

Sinikka Nogello was happy to have Meredith Fine take over the political interviews on Cape Ann TV.  Brad Pierce was happy that his namesake grandson turns two, his wife is out of the hospital, and the Cape Ann Motor Inn is fully booked for the month of August.  All is good for Brad ! Julie LaFontaine is happy  her husband's surgery is scheduled in October.  Terri Jones was  happy that her daughter's wedding went well and is  (whew!) over.

Fines

President Ruth fined our newest Rotarians today.  Rotarians who have not returned the money for Comedy Night tickets were fined.  A table fine for Rotarians always sitting together was administered, and  Brad Pierce paid yet another a dessert fine.  Rotary Pin fines was given.  Rotarians who have not introduced themselves to our newest member, Meredith Fine, were fined.

Club News

Fellow Rotarians, next Tuesday is Tuna Tuesday.  We have been called to action by President Obama &  his "United We Serve" volunteer initiative, a great way to help many communities.  We have "cast our nets" to collect cans of tuna to stock the shelves of our local food pantry.  Every Rotarian should bring a least one can of tuna to our next meeting on Tuesday.

Julie LaFontaine informs us that the first canned goods to run out at the pantry are cans of tuna.

Save the Date

Summer Social is scheduled for August 26 at 6 pm at the Cape Ann Motor Inn.  The club will not have a meeting on August 25.
