This week you get to name the bird. Come to the next meeting with the correct identification of the bird pictured and President "Bird Man" Bruce will forgive your fines for the day. When President Bruce ask the big question, " Who can name this week's Rotary Bird?" get your hand up fast!

Interact members are on summer vacation.
Makeups
Roger Corbin made up in Bedford, Ruth Pino made up in Manchester and Rockport. Shirley Conway made up on-line twice.
Rotarians can now make up on-line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup. Please hand your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.
Birthdays & Anniversaries
Roger Armstrong celebrated his birthday this week. Dave Stotzer is celebrating 3 "wonderful" years of marriage. George and Daphne Roark celebrated 42 "wonderful" years of marriage. George is planning a small parade to celebrate, but he is a little broke after volunteering to pay one dollar for every year married as his fine.
Vacations
Matt Langis spent some time in Durango, Colorado. David Babson went to meet his daughter in Alaska and enjoyed 2 weeks of Alaskan scenery. Leo Bergeron spent one week in New Hampshire and one week in California. Roger Armstrong went island hoping on a sailboat in the Caribbean. Dan Ottenheimer spent 12 days on a family vacation.
Happy Thoughts
Cheryl Collins is very happy the children are back in school. Cheryl Collins also is happy that another one of her houses sold. Mike Sarraf was happy to go to City Hall and pick up his marriage license. Mike is to be married on Labor Day - congrats to Mike and his lovely bride. Jim Marr was happy for George and his 43 "wonderful" years of marriage. Sinikka Nogelo was happy to have her paintings showing at the Avery Mann Gallery on Rocky Neck.
Fines
Acting President Sinikka fined any member who has not purchased a ticket to the first Rotary Comedy Night. Joe Ciolino was fined because the subject of last week's speaker was a weathervane. A name in the GDT's and missing pin fines were also imposed.
Club News
The first Rotary Comedy Night was a huge success. The sellout crowd enjoyed a fun night from some local comics, great food, a fantastic venue, plus a wonderful view. Congrats to Ruth Pino and her committee for putting this new fundraiser together. It is a winner!

Winners and Losers... Jim Perry gave an ABC of Rotary Moment. Roger Corbin won the money, and no won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Sue Ellis introduced our speaker today, Harriett Webster, Executive Director of the Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center. Harriett discussed the new programs that the Maritime Center has been operating this summer and fall.
