    George Roark had Bob Roland, Head of Athletics at GHS, as his guest.  Mary Black had Janet Ratray and Christine Consala as her guests.

     Interact members  were not present today.

     Todd Tanger made up in Hamilton/Wenham.

    The next  Rotary Moment will be given by Fran Mondello, followed by Donna Morris and Jon Morse.    

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

      Rick Doucette celebrated his one year wedding anniversary.  Tony Corrao celebrated 25 years in the plowing business, 24 years in the roofing business, and 7 years with his wife.  Tony handled all his anniversaries with Precision!  Thank you for the candy and mugs!  

 

Vacations

       John Dugger vacationed in Gloucester, Jim McKenna went to Vegas, Howard Frisch went to Switzerland, Leo Bergeron went some where, Rick Doucette went to New Hampshire for one day .  Cheryl Collins spent 10 days at home.

 

Happy Thoughts

 

        Tony Corrao was happy to be dressed as a train engineer, and happy to give out a "Precision Coffee Mug" & candy as a special treat for members today.  Barry Pett was happy President Joe donated Christmas cards to be signed and sent to the troops.  Ruth Pino was happy to come to Rotary because the toilets in her office are not functioning.   David Slade was happy that the time is getting close for his hip replacement. Charlene Glynn was happy to announce that she is with child.  She thanked Steve Kaity for helping with her pregnancy? Tony Corrao was happy that the Polar Express did great during the Christmas Parade, winning best of show in the parade.  Steve Kaity's daughter (front page of the GDT's last week) will have her first kiss (on stage?) in the play CinderellaGreg Bover was happy that Magnolia Avenue is finally paved.

 

    

Fines

  Mike Costello was fined for hitting the dessert table before saying grace. Rudy Macchi, as Santa's local booking agent, was fined for Santa's interview on Fox News. Howard Frisch was fined for a photo in the Chamber of Commerce newsletter.  Pat Thorpe and Mark Grenier were both fined for a new TV ad for the Co-op bank. President Joe gave out a Rotary pin fine today.  Brad Pierce was not fined for having his cell phone on.  Brad's daughter is about to give birth!

 

    

    Club News

Thank You Scott Chernov for taking notes for this weeks Rotator!

 

   George Roark presented Bob Roland with a check to sponsor the Indoor Track Meet this spring.

 

   The Holiday Party was a great success.  Thank you to Joanne Carbone and Alex Delis for putting together one of the best holiday parties that we have ever had.  Thank you to Don Sudbay Jr, for giving us  the bowling lanes at a discounted price for the evening.  Rudy Macchi, thank you for booking Santa for the evening.  Santa had one busy day collecting toys for State Senator Bruce Tarr's Toy Drive all over the North Shore, and then coming to our party.  Santa, you never let us down.  Thank you!

 

   The Elderly Gift Project was another great success this year.  Thank you to the committee, Kathy Ciluffo, Joanne Carbone,  Bob Ryan,  and Bruce Horne for putting together a program that will be giving needy elderly residents living in Gloucester's Elderly Housing  a certificate for groceries at the food pantry.  This is a novel way to help our needy elders in Gloucester,  not only at Christmas time but in to the new year.

    

 Stage Fort Park Centennial Project

     Please consider signing on as a sponsor of our Centennial Project - The Stage Fort Park Playground Sponsor Levels include - Gold Sponsorship, $1000 will purchase a picnic table, Sliver -$650 will purchase a bench, and Bronze - $400 will purchase a tree. All sponsors will be acknowledged on a display at the playground.


Winners and Losers... Barry Pett won the beverage of choice.  Scott Chernov  won the money, and Ruth Pino won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 

Speakers.... Mary Black talked about working with children and families in court under the CHINS program.

 

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on roast pork, rice, applesauce and cookies.  The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars.
