Visiting Rotarians

    Chris Costello was visiting from the Manchester/Essex Club.  Mike Luster and Bob Visnick were visiting from the Rockport Club.  Mark Linsky was visiting from a California Club. 

 

Guests of Rotarians

    Ann Margaret Ferrante had Daemon Berry as her guest today.  Carol Sharoff's guest was Carol McCabe from the Gloucester Cemetery Committee.

 

Interact Club

     Interact members members were on school vacation this week.   

 

Makeups

      Carole Sharoff made up in Rockport, Charlie Foster made up in Marco Island, and Dave Stotzer made up 3 times at Interact. 

     Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org  , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print of a receipt of having completed your on-line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance figures to be adjusted. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

   No birthdays were reported today.  David Slade is celebrating 33 "wonderful" years of marriage.Howard Frisch is celebrating the 35th anniversary of  Horvitz and Frisch P.C., a company started by Joel Horvitz.

 

Vacations

    Roger Armstrong took a road trip to Maryland and Washington, John Rando went to Key Largo, Florida for a week and then on to Laguna Beach, California.  David Stotzer went to Freeport, Maine to do a little shopping.  Greg Bover  did some snow tubing in North Conway, New Hampshire, and   Bob Visnick is sending his 10 year old to Mexico. 

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

    Jon Morse was happy to see the Red Sox show up in Fort Myers, Florida.  Jon was unhappy to have his servers crash on Friday PM, but up and running again by the following Sunday afternoon.  Chris Costello was happy to see the Gloucester Waterfront featured on Channel 4, and was delighted on the interview the reported did with his dad, Mike CostelloChris was also happy to have purchased a new truck at Sudbay's.  Brad Pierce was happy to have his daughter's appendectomy operation go so well.  (He was going to pick her up after Rotary, of course.)  Tony Corrao was happy his wife Jo is taking her last chemo treatment today.  Brian McCook was happy to schedule his grandchildren for 2 weeks in July.  Ruth Pino was happy to win the Rockport Football Pool.  Mike Luster was happy that Chris Costello sold him the correct railing for his house.   Bruce Bain was happy to have 4 houses under agreement.  Joe Parisi was happy to drop off his daughter at Logan Airport to begin a trip to the Dominican Republic  for a week of  teaching children.  Jim Marr was happy  Leo Bergeron is back out of the closet, especially because Jim locked Leo in the closet in the first place.

 

  Fines

     President Don gave out late fines to some tardy Rotarians today.  Matt Langis was fined for a photo in the GDT's.  Pat Thorpe, Mark Greener, and Mike Luster were fined for all working for the Gloucester Coop bank.  Bruce Bain was fined for talking business at lunch today.  Mike Costello was fined for his appearance on Channel 4 this week.    

    Club News

        The club had a little check distribution today, giving gifts to Mike Luster, representing the Gloucester Little League, and Carol McCabe, representing the Gloucester Burial Ground Committee.

     Ann Margaret Ferante is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary MomentHoward Frisch is first backup, and Sal Frontiero, is the second backup, third backup is Julie Geary Please have your  ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 

    


Winners and Losers...   Tony Corrao  gave an ABC of Rotary Moment.Sal Frontiero won the money, and Carole Sharoff won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 


Speakers....  Chris Costello visiting from the Manchester/Essex Club, and District Membership Chair,  spoke about Rotary membership and good new-member qualifications to consider.
