Brian McCook made up at the Longmeadow Club. Rotarians can now make up on line. Birthdays & Anniversaries
Christopher Farmer and Dan Ottenheimer both celebrated their birthdays today. John Dugger is celebrating his mother's birthday. The always entertaining Don Thrasher is celebrating the not-so-happy anniversary of a slip on some ice and a broken hip. Sue Ellis is happy to be celebrating her one year anniversary of working here in Gloucester.
Vacations
President Don took a short vacation. Greg Bover took a day with his son to attend an "Esoteric Information" seminar in Boston. Tony Corrao did some schooling in Philadelphia, and was present for a photo shoot of a young family member. Roger Armstrong went to Washington, DC and Manhattan. Dan Ottenheimer went to Costa Rica. Christopher Farmer went to New York City. Jim Marr was happy to be once again working at the Cape Ann Bowling Lanes .

Happy Thoughts
Dave Stotzer is happy his mother has decided to live on the North Shore instead of going back to Wisconsin. Joe Parisi is happy his daughter (and Interact Co - President) is back from a trip to the Dominican Republic and a Holy Family Parish Mission to teach young children. Joe is also happy his daughter has been accepted at Norwich University. (Brad Pierce's alma mater) Josh Arnold is happy to be celebrating the birth of a niece. Roger Armstrong was happy to have the opportunity to once again visit Washington, DC. Bruce Horne was happy to be celebrating with the Rotarians of Manchester/Essex Club their 5th year anniversary. (Under the guidance of former President Steve Kaity the Gloucester Club started the Manchester/ Essex Club.) Jay Smith was happy to have an automatic defibrillator available for customers and employees at Ace Hardware. Rudy Macchi was happy for the Building Center for conducting a heart surgery on checkout # 2 of the Building Center (Gloucester store only). Ruth Pino was happy to have the Second Chamber of Commerce Home and Garden Show be a sell out. David McKechnie was happy his mother is celebrating her 80th birthday. Rudy Macchi was happy for Tony Corrao's company, Precision Roofing, and their winning a national roofing award.
Fines
Don Nicastro was fined for the GDT's winning a prestigious award in the newspaper industry. David McKechnie was fined for a photo in the GDT's. Tony Coraro was fined for a photo in the Chamber of Commerce newsletter. Howard Frisch was fined for just being "too handsome," as the incident involved a comb, a mirror, and a public place.

Winners and Losers... Ann Margaret Ferrante gave an ABC of Rotary Moment. Tony Coraro won the money, and Bruce Horne won the flowers and gave them to our guest, Coral Grande. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Bruce Horne introduced our speaker today, Tom Farina, President of Cape Ann Animal Aid. Tom talked about the shelter's building project located on Paw's Lane off Essex Avenue.
