Interact Club

 

The Interact club members present were freshman Romy Hermann, and Lanai  Stuart.  Romy spoke about herself, her family and future goals.

 

Makeups

 

Ed Collard made up online.

Rotarians can now make up online. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org and allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup. Make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your online makeup, and give your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

 

David Marsh and Abraham Lincoln both celebrated their birthdays this week.  Abe would have been 201 years old.  (David is a little younger.)  No anniversaries were reported today.

 

Vacations

No vacations were reported today.

 

Happy Thoughts

 

Rick Doucette had 2 happy thoughts; one was that the YMCA had a teen trip planned to TD Banknorth's Arena courtesy of TD Banknorth.  Second, as part of the trip, tickets were provided to the Celtics game.  Bruce Horne was happy  the Chamber of Commerce Winter Birding Weekend went well.    Bruce was also happy that Jim Marr called him for information on a bird.  Maggie Rosa was happy to see President Ruth with a rose between her teeth as we all came in today. Roger Armstrong was happy with the Superbowl's outcome.  Dave Stotzer was happy to be spending his first week in his new vacation house on Moosehead Lake.  Isaac Wilhelm was happy to see Peter Anderson attending our meeting today. Peter was instrumental in Isaac joining Rotary.

 

Fines

President Ruth fined Todd Tanger for bring his children to a Chamber of Commerce event.

April            6  First Lunch at Cruiseport!  Buttermilk fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, fruit with creme fraiche

March         6   Sinikka Nogelo's retirement party from Cape Ann TV to be held  at Cruiseport. 

March       10   GHS Career Exploration

March       23   The club will hold its regular meeting at the Open Door facilities on Emerson Avenue.

March      25  An Evening to Remember...the club is sponsoring a fund raiser at Cruiseport featuring the two Gloucester Tenors, Tony Verga,  Vito Calamo, and Linda Amero, plus the Docksiders.  Tickets are $25.00, event starts at 7:00 pm.

April           8  Interact will hold a Pizza-Off at Cruiseport to determine who make s the best pizza in town!

April          10  Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, April 10th at the Rose Baker Senior Center, the time is 4:00 to 6:00 pm

May            1   Paint and Scrape the Band Stand at Stage Fort Park - Saturday, May 1st starting at 6:30 am, working until till12:00 noon.

 

 

ABC of Rotary Moment

 

Sheree DeLorenzo is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Dan Otteheimer  is first backup, Barry Pett is the second backup, and the third backup is Brad Pierce.   Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.

Winners and Losers: Sinikka Nogelo gave the Rotary Moment today. Jim Marr won the $10.00, Julie LaFontain's guest Magge won the flowers, and no winners in the card raffle today.

Speaker today: Rick Doucette, auctioneer extraordinaire, raised $560.00 in a re-gift auction held during our meeting.
