Happy Thoughts
President Sinikka was happy the Elks was kind enough to let us watch the presidential inauguration in their TV lounge. President Sinikka was also happy to have survived cross country skiing in Ravenswood Park this past weekend. Barry Pett was happy to report the Gloucester Fund dispersed $135,000.00 ( $6,428.57 each) to 21 victims of the Lorraine Apartment's Fire. Barry thanked the community at large, and members of Rotary who have helped out financially. Steve Kaity is still happy that Todd Tanger has been installed as the new Chamber President. John Dugger was happy our country has a president of color now. Christopher Farmer is happy that all of our snow accumulation this year has been on holidays and weekends, and not closing schools. Christopher also was startled and happy to see a white hawk fly by him in his yard. Dave Stotzer was also happy to see the same hawk Sunday morning at his house. (This bird certainly gets around.) Don Ottenheimer is happy that this country's transition of power goes so smoothly. Jim Marr was happy the rescue of the Hudson River plane victims went so smoothly; all of the responding rescue units worked so well together. Ruth Pino was also happy about yesterday's rescue of two men just outside Gloucester Harbor.
Fines
President Sinikka fined all Rotarians who were wearing a tie. Rotarians who were not wearing red, white and blue were also fined. Members not wearing their pins were fined, and John Dugger was fined for wearing a hat all during the meeting.
