Interact Club

 

The Interact club members present today were Matthew Bommarito, Mike Sawyer,and Aaron Aiello.  Matthew spoke about his family, school activities, and future goals.   

 

Makeups

 

Jon Morse made up times in Naples, Florida.

Rotarians can now make up online. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org and allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup. Make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your online makeup, and give your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

Vacations

 

Steve Dexter visited his son in Switzerland.  Brad Pierce and wife went to New Hampshire to buy cigarettes.  Steve Kaity also participated in the illegal  transaction of smuggling over state lines.  On the way home, Brad treated his wife to lunch and a smoke at the Agawam Diner. John Duggan went to Columbus, Ohio.

 

Happy Thoughts

Julie Geary is looking forward to buying her grandson's buoy which he painted for the Lobster Pot Tree this past Christmas.  Julie LaFontaine was happy to have found a good replacement for the shop manager for the Second Glance Thrift Shop.

 

Fines

President Ruth fined Mike Costello for a "Rudy type" comment concerning Steve Dexter's Swiss vacation.  Steve Kaity and Brad Pierce were fined for bootlegging cigarettes from New Hampshire. Sinikka Nogelo paid a fine for her photo in the newspaper.  Rotarians who did see the photo and/or did not inform President Ruth of the photo's existence were fined.  Carole Sharoff received a Rotary Fine.  Tony Corrao was fined for eating two peanut butter cookies.

 

Club News

 

Here's lunch for the next several weeks:

 

February  2  Super Bowl Tailgating Party with chicken fingers, mozzarella salad,   chips and salsa.

February   9  Clam Chowder, turkey club, salad, and maybe the elusive lemon meringue pie.

February 16  Cheese tortellini in butternut squash sauce, meatballs, salad and Italian icebox cookies.

February 23  Beef Stroganoff with noodles, salad, chocolate fudge pudding with whipped cream. 

March         2  Dijon chicken salad, chicken with rice soup, grape-nut custard

March         9  Shepherd's pie, salad, chocolate cake

March       23  President Ruth returns!  Tropical Tuesday - Coconut shrimp with tropical sauce, coconut rice, and mango mousse. 

March       30  Baked fish, roasted red potatoes, salad, strawberry shortcake.

April            6  First Lunch at Cruiseport!  Buttermilk fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, fruit with creme fraiche.

February  2  - Club business meeting

 

Save the Date


February - 4  Fireside Chat for new members at Carole Sharoff's home.  The time is 6:30pm.  Check with Carole to reserve a space. 

March  -   23   The club will hold its regular meeting at the Open Door facilities on Emerson Avenue.

March    25 - An Evening to Remember...the club is sponsoring a fund raiser at Cruiseport featuring the two Gloucester Tenors, Tony Verga, and Vito Calamo. Also appearing are a singer to be name later, plus the Docksiders.  Tickets are $25.00, the event starts at 7:00 pm.

April  8 - Interact Club will hold a Pizza-Off at Cruiseport to determine who make the best pizza in town!

 

ABC of Rotary Moment

 

Sheree DeLorenzo is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Eric Noble is first backup, Sinikka Nogelo is the second backup, and the third backup is Dan Ottheheimer.  .Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.

Winners and Losers: Brian McCook gave the Rotary Moment today.  Rick Doucette won the $10.00, Sue Ellis won the flowers, and no winners in the card raffle today.

Speaker today: Josh Arnold introduced our speaker today, Karen Keefe. Karen works for Mass Relay, a telephone relay service provider.
