Birthdays and Anniversaries
Steve Kaity and Shirley Conway both celebrated their birthdays today. No anniversaries were reported today.
Vacations
Bruce Horne took the 4th of July week off. Roger Armstong went to New York City. David Stotzer went to the "island" of Nova Scotia. Isaac Wilhelm went to Cape Cod.
Happy Thoughts
Terri Jones was happy about a wedding. Roger Armstrong was happy to have Roger Corbin back to attending meetings. Howard Frisch was happy to see Merdith Fine back for a visit. Howard reminded members that Meredith was the first woman that was allowed (by Howard) to cook pancakes at the breakfast. Bob Ryan was happy to attend a wedding at St. Anthony's chapel. The groom was 86 and the bride was 72. (Word at the reception was that the happy couple will be backpacking the White Mountains in New Hampshire for their honeymoon.) Jon Morse was sad he could not attend President Ruth's induction. Jon had a good excuse, his daughter in law gave birth to a new grandson on July 7 the same day as the induction. David McKechnie was happy to go to San Antonio to find a solution to keep the Shriner Hospital Facilities open. The trip was successful. Eric Noble had a happy thought involving his son, the Red Sox, and Mark Wallburg. Greg Bover was happy to be back home from a trip installing CB FIisk's newest pipe organ in Indiana. Greg acknowledged that he missed us all, especially our singing. Jim Marr was happy to see a DPW working working alone without any "lookers on." Jim Marr and his son chased a man from backyard to backyard to apprehend a man breaking into cars at the Vista Hotel. The police arrested him.
Fines
Todd Tanger paid a photo fine. President Ruth fined the Costello's for sitting together every week. Steve Kaity was given a crown fine. (No one out blings the Queen, President Ruth.) Jim Marr was fined for wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Rotarians not wearing socks were fined. Howard Frisch was fined for ordering tea in a special cup. Rotarians who missed the Rotary installation of officers were fined.
Club News
Here is the lunch menu for next Tuesday: Our theme is "Thanksgiving in July," featuring roast turkey with gravy, stuffing, whipped potatoes and butternut squash. Dessert will be a combination pear and cranberry crisp. Sounds delish!
