     Greg Bover had Rick Isaac, representing the Fish Box Derby, as his guest.  Ruth Pino   had Gloucester's new DPW director, Mike Hale, as her guest.

 

Interact Club

     

 Interact members are on summer vacation.

 

Makeups

     No makeups were reported today.    

    Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     David Sullivan celebrated his birthday.  Mike Costello and Steve Kaity celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Sidewalk Bazaar this year.  Joe and Joan Ciolino are celebrating the 17th anniversary of the Weathervane; the store first opened for business on August 1, 1991.

 

Vacations

     Bob and Barbara Ellis visited New York. 

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

    Roger Armstrong was happy to have his gallery voted the best North Shore Gallery.  Roger Armstrong was also happy to be having a fine day.  Brad Pierce was happy to show off his golfing skills once again, this time in a Georgetown tournament.  Jim Marr was happy to have Fed Ex return a lost wallet to its owner in  Orange County, California.   Ruth Pino was also voted a "Best of North Shore" award. Mike Linquata was happy work is progressing on the lighting of the WW2 Memorial.  Steve Kaity was happy Donald Saunder's daughter was able to represent her father at the dedication of Rotary's Stage Fort Park playground.

 Fines

      President Sinikka fined Joe Parisi and Steve Kaity for their photo in the GDT"s. Dave Stotzer was fined for a photo.  Rotarians who did not attend the park dedication were fined.   Mike Costello and Sal Frontiero were fined for a chicken comment directed at President Sinikka.    

 

    Club News

      President Sinikka gave  a $250 check to Rick Isaac for the Fish Box Derby, and a $1500 check was given to Sal Frontiero to benefit  the YMCA.

 

 ABC of Rotary Moment

    

    Julie LaFontaine is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary MomentRay Lamont is first backup,  Kevin McAveeney is the second backup, and the third backup is David McKechnie. Please have your   ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 

    


Winners and Losers...   Matt Langis gave an ABC of Rotary MomentSal Frontiero won the money, and Greg Bover won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 


Speakers.... Ruth Pino introduced our speaker today, Mike Hale, the new Department of Public Works Director for the City of Gloucester.  Mike talked about his future plans for the Department and answered many questions from those present.
