Visiting Rotarians

    No visiting rotarians were reported today.  

 

Guests of Rotarians

    Joe Ciolino had Bruce Nichols as his guest today.  Don Sudbay Jr. had Todd Tanger as his guest today.  Bruce and Todd are potential members.  Rick Doucette had Morria Torrell as his guest today. 

 

Interact Club

     Interact members are off for the summer.

 

Makeups

    No make ups were reported today.

 

A Rotary Moment

    The next Rotary Moment will be given by Cheryl Collins followed by Mike Costello and Alex Delis.

    

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     Bob Ryan celebrated his birthday today. Anniversaries celebrated today are a follows: Rick Doucette celebrated 20 years working for the YMCA, Joan Carbone celebrated 4 "wonderful" years of marriage, Scott Chernov celebrated 1 "wonderful" year of marriage,  David McKechnie celebrated 18 "wonderful" years of marriage, and Brad Pierce celebrated 20 years at the Cape Ann Motor Inn.  Rudy Macchi celebrated his 20 year anniversary of becoming the club president.

   

Vacations

     Mike Gigliotti took a Mediterranean cruise.

 

Happy Thoughts

      Barry Pett was happy to have Stop and Shop pick up the tab for the July 3 city wide fireworks.

     David Slade was happy to have christened a new family baby.  David's daughter was also inducted to the Bishop Fenwick Hall of Fame.

      Ruth Pino was happy to have had the opportunity  to visit the Best Public Beach North of Boston, as voted by Boston Magazine, our own Good Harbor Beach. Ruth was also happy to have her daughter visiting from Ohio and celebrating her 29th birthday at home.

      David Stotzer was happy to be breaking the law by walking his dog on Good Harbor Beach, but observing the law by cleaning up after him.

       Bruce Horne was happy to be working on his bird carvings.

      Carol Sharoff and Steve Kaity were happy to both have children named to  the  honor roll at the O'Maley School.

        David McKechnie was happy to have had a successful little league baseball game.

        Joe Ciolino was happy to have heard  Mary Black singing at the Firemen's Memorial Service held recently. 

    

Fines

        David Stotzer was fined for not being present when the Interact Club took over our meeting.

    

    Club News

        Directors and officers will have the final board meeting at Joe Ciolino's house at 28 High Popples Road.  This is the meeting were funds are distributed to the community.  Please attend. After the meeting, a pot luck supper will be served.  Please check with President Greg for your food or beverage assignment.

         A very big thank you to Brad Pierce for maintaining the Rotary Bass Avenue traffic island.  This is Brad's 19th year of taking care of the island.

         Howard Frisch is taking orders for jersey shirts to be worn at club events.  The first will be the Pancake Breakfast.  The shirts cost $20 and come in blue and yellow.

         Donna Morris asked members to Adopt a Lobster for Pathways for Children fund raiser.  See Donna for more details.

         The club donated a check to Gloucester VNA to celebrate their 90th anniversary.  Shirley Conway accepted the check for the VNA.


Winners and Losers... Jim Marr won the beverage of choice. Tony Corrao won the money, and Leo Bergeron won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 

Speakers....  Maura Torell was our speaker today.  Maura works with the YMCA's children's programs.

 

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on chicken caesar salad. The dinners at my table gave the food 3 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the diners no suggestions.
