Birthdays & Anniversaries
Pat Thorpe, Mike Sarraf, and Joe Ciolino all celebrated their birthday today. Jon Morse is celebrating 42 "wonderful" years of marriage.
Vacations
Dave Kenney vacationed by staying in his yard and playing Scrabble. Carole Sharoff went to her niece's wedding in Chicago. Mar Sandler went to Boulder, Colorado. Jon Morse went to Richmond, Virginia to visit the kids.
Happy Thoughts
Steve Kaity was happy the Chamber's Small Business Week Awards all went well. Steve was also happy to have had some minor surgery which came out well. Lastly, Steve is happy his daughter graduated from high school. Brad Pierce was just "blown away" with all the congratulations he received during his week as Gloucester's Small Business Man of the Year. Pat Thorpe was happy to give out our four Rotary scholarships last Saturday Night. The Scholarship Committee consist of Pat Thorpe, Leo Bergeron, and Kevin McAveeney. 40 applications were reviewed by the committee. Sinikka Nogelo had a proud grandson moment. John Dugger is happy his summer has been busy, and that he is losing some weight. Rick Doucette was happy his wife's artwork is hanging in the Pleasant Street Tea Room. Dave Stotzer got the bird sighting of the week.
Fines
Joe Ciolino was fined for a Lawrence / Lowell mistake in the Rotator. Brad Pierce paid a dessert fine. President Bruce fined all members wearing shorts today. Dave Stotzer was fined for a phone, which was in his car (?).
Club News
The dedication of the Stage Fort Park Playground is now scheduled for July 26 at 10 am. Please save the date.

Steve Kaity is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, David Kenny is first backup, Julie LaFontaine is the second backup, and the third backup is Ray Lamont. Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.
Winners and Losers... Howard Frisch gave an ABC of Rotary Moment. Pat Thorpe won the money, and Flowers were given to our speaker today, Frances Finch . No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Greg Bover introduced our speaker today, Frances Finch, who spoke about her sabbaticals to Mali, Africa.
