Visiting Rotarians

      Mike Costello had his son Chris as his guest today.  Chris will not be a guest very long as he will be transferring to the Gloucester Club from the Manchester / Essex Rotary Club.  Welcome Chris!

      Bob Ryan had his niece Heidi Dallon as his guest today.  Ruth Pino had Cindy Cafasso Donaldson as her guest today. 

 

Interact Club

The Interact Club is off for the summer.  

 

Makeups

    No makeups were reported today. 

    Rotarians can now make up on line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

    No birthdays were reported today.  Maggie Rosa is celebrating her 41st anniversary of coming to the USA with a one way ticket.  Barry Pett ( and Merlin) are celebrating the 26th anniversary of  owning Tally's.  Don Sudbay Jr. is celebrating his 35th year at the dealership. Todd Tanger is celebrating 13 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Charlie Foster is celebrating his 23rd year in Rotary.    

 

Vacations

     Kim Spanner spent 11 days in the fog during her 2 week vacation.  David Slade went to California.  Ruth Pino went to Birmingham, England to attend the International Rotary Convention.  Jim Marr spent 4 day in Maine.  Pat Thorpevisited Ogunquit, Maine.

 

Happy Thoughts

      John Duggan was happy his schedule is more flexible in the summer.  Brad Pierce was happy his grandson had a chance to play with Salma Hayek's daughter at the Cripple Cove Playground.  David Slade was happy to have attended the Red, White and Blue Pancake Breakfast held recently in Manchester.  Roger Armstrong was happy to have sold out one section of the WW2 Memorial.  (Bricks are being sold in memory of a veteran.)  Christopher Farmer was happy to be traveling back the UK for a vacation.  Ruth Pino was happy the weather in Birmingham was better that what we were having in Gloucester.  Christopher Farmer was very happy that the schools were not running the beach concession stands this year.  Ruth was happy and honored to have the club send her to the International Rotary Convention in England.  Barry Pett was happy to have purchased a new vehicle from our favorite car dealership.  (Don Sudbay paid the fine.)  Bruce Horne also upgraded to another car from Sudbay's.  (Don paid this fine also.)  President Sinikka Nogelo was happy that her husband Joe is starting his first official day as a retired gentleman.  Bill Flygare was happy about a flag video. 

 

Fines

     President Sinikka issued no fines today.    

 

Club News

      President Sinikka said her goodbyes as her term as president came to end.  Under her leadership the club gave our $16,900 to community projects, a figure that held even in a declining economy.  $3,000 went to Polio Plus which was raised during our first annual Recycling Fundraiser.  Thank you Sinikka for your leadership this year.

 

      Please try to make Tuesday's meeting when Ruth Pino will be installed as our new president.  It is a special day for the club, please do not miss it.
