Birthdays and Anniversaries
Mike Sarraf, Mike Costello, Pat Thorpe, and Joe Ciolino all celebrated their birthdays this week. Jim and Pam Marr are celebrating 44 "wonderful" years of marriage. Brad Pierce is celebrating his Rotary membership anniversary.
Vacations
Leo Bergeron went to New Hampshire. George Roark went to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Maggie Rosa spent 12 days in the United Kingdom, and 3 days in Buffalo. Bill Flygare went to Maine. John Dugger went to Vermont. Matt Langis went to St. John's.
Happy Thoughts
Don Sudbay Jr. thanked the the club for the Paul Harris Award. Jon and Carol Morse were also happy to have been presented the Small Bussiness Person of the year in Gloucester. Jon was also happy that his sons came up for the awards. Jon was also happy to have purchased a 380SL Mercedes. Brad Pierce was happy to have former club president Dale Smith as a guest at his motel. Mike Saraff was happy his brother came down for his birthday. David Slade was happy to thank his fellow Rotarians for supporting the Interact Club to the tune of $440 in fines last week. Mike Costello was happy that the first award of a scholaship in his name will be given in this school year. Kim Spanner was happy the old Collins School bell on top of the Bank North Clock Tower is now ringing every hour. Steve Kaity was happy that Mike Costello limped into Jon and Carol Morse's reception on Monday evening. Sinikka Nogelo was happy to go and celebrate CATV receiving an award for excellence in public access. Jim Marr was happy that Joe Ciolino arranged transportation for Sam Micelli, our oldest living Paul Harris Fellow, to the Paul Harris dinner. Christopher Farmer thanked Representative Ann Margaret Ferrante for bring forward the flaws in the charter school process.
Fines
Rotarians not attending the Paul Harris night were fined. Don Sudbay Jr. was fined for a photo in the GDT's. Jon Morse was fined for his new 1982 Mercedes.
Club News
Pat Thorpe has been asked to serve as our newest Board Member. Pat will assume the club presidency in the year 2014-15. Thank you for serving, Pat.

Shirley Conway is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Roger Corbin is first backup, Tony Corrao is the second backup, and the third backup is Sheree DeLorenzo. Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.
Winners and Losers: Ed Collard gave an ABC of Rotary Moment. David McKechnie won the money, and Jim Marr won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speaker today: President Sinikka held a business meeting today. The membership voted in the new and improved by-laws. Thanks to the committee for their service in sifting through the old by-laws and updating them to the Rotary standards we have today.
