     Dave Peterson, President of the Manchester/Essex Club was visiting today. 

 

Guests of Rotarians

      Sue Ellis had a guest today.  Jeff Weaver, a local artist was our speaker today was a guest of Greg Bover. 

 

Interact Club

     

      Interact members were not present today.

 

Makeups

      Roger Corbin made up in Boca Raton, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Kevin McAveeney made up Interact. 

     Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     Jon Morse celebrated his birthday today.  No anniversaries were reported today. 

 

Vacations

     Roger Corbin vacationed 15 days in Florida.  Charlie Foster had 6 weeks in Florida,

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

     Steve Dexter was happy to report that he had an opportunity to go the Grand Opening of AGH's new Cancer Center  Steve was also happy to check out the Charlie Lowe's photo exhibit at the Cape Ann Museum.  Rudy Macchi was happy to have sponsored George Roark to the club 25 years ago. Terri Jones was happy to have Maggie Rosa fold and distribute flyers for the Rotary Recycling Day coming up.  Maggie was also happy that the young people at the Building Center get what recycling is all about.  Barry Pett was happy to have thanked Maggie Rosa and her City Hall Restoration Committee which includes Steve Dexter for donating new room darkening shades for the City Hall Auditorium.  John Dugger was also singing Maggie Rosa's praises today thanking her for bringing Robotics to Gloucester High School. 

 

 Fines

     President Sinikka fined any Rotarian who was Irish decent today one dollar.  If you were not Irish the fine was two dollars.  Rotarians who did not have any green on today were fined.  Rotarians who were betting on March Madness were fined.  Rotarian who had advertising their company on a shirt or truck were fined.  Greg Bover was fined for winning a $1000 (to be shared) ticket to the Chambers Irish Sweepstake Fundraiser.  Sal Fronterio was also fined for winning a $1000 prize also.  David Slade won $150 and was duly fined.

  Recycling Days

    Save the date:  Saturday, April 4, Rose Baker Senior Center, is the Gloucester Rotary Club's Spaghetti Supper.  Proceeds to benefit the Rose Baker Senior Center.

     Pat Thorpe is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary MomentSergey Zemlyanski is first backup, Charlie Foster is the second backup, and the third backup is Josh Arnold. Please have your   ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 

    


Winners and Losers...   Roger Armstrong  gave an ABC of Rotary Moment.  Dave Marsh won the money, and Greg Bover won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 


Speakers....Greg Bover introduced our speaker today, Jeff Weaver.  Jeff is an up and coming  local artist.
