The Interact club members present were Arica Aiello, Emily Doucette, and Lousia Brown. Lousia spoke about herself, family and future goals.
Makeups
Tom Dexter made up in Salem, Ed Collard made up online, Kim Spaner made up in Peabody, Ruth Pino made up twice; once each in Rockport and Manchester/Essex. David Slade and Julie Geary made up at Interact.
Rotarians can now make up online. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org and allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup. Make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your online makeup, and give your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.
Birthdays and Anniversaries
Josh Arnold celebrated his birthday today. Sheree DeLorenzo was happy to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Seaport Grill at Cruiseport. Christopher Farmer noted it was Dr. Seuss' birthday today. Christopher is also still celebrating his college wining the big rugby tournament 44 years ago.
Vacations
Don Sudbay Jr. spent 4 days in Colorado skiing with his daughter. David Stotzer spent 2 days at a photo convention in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Brad Pierce went to Biloxi, Mississippi, on a golf outing. Bruce Horne went to a conference in Orlando. Kim Spanner spent 7 days in Jamaica. Tom Dexter went to Pennsylvania for 3 days.
Happy Thoughts
Tom Dexter was happy his wife Anita joined the Salem Rotary Club. Tom also reported on a fundraising idea, Change for Change, giving out piggy banks out to members. Josh Arnold was happy to have relaunched his new website for the family's non profit. Barry Pett was happy to go on the Washington trip protesting NOAA. Barry was also happy that no one was hurt during the past burst of bad weather. John Dugger was happy with new information about Adult Onset Diabetes. George Roark was happy for his Canadian wife, who was very happy about the Olympics and Canada's hockey win over the United States. Christopher Farmer was happy to have spotted two local falcons, and for the rubber duckie he just received for his birthday. Maggi Rosa was also happy to have two falcons roosting at City Hall. Sinikka Nogello was very happy that Sheree DeLorenzo was very supportive of her retirement, offering up Cruiseport for the party. Julie LaFontaine was so happy to have her car detailed this week. Julie Geary was happy to be participating in Friday's Magnolia Wine Tasting. Julie was also happy to have finally moved back into their master bedroom 5 years after the fire. Tony Carrao was happy that of the 3800 roofs he has supplied, no one reported any major damage. Margo Casey was unhappy that her club (Beverly) does not talk about bird sightings. Greg Bover was happy the second annual birding weekend went well this year. Christopher Farmer was happy to be talking about falcons in Gloucester, and Christopher was reminded of Joe Garland wrote a book called The Fish and the Falcon, a bit of Gloucester history.
Fines
Rotarians wearing a white, collared shirt were fined today. Women who were not sitting with any men at their table were fined.
