Interact Club

 

The Interact club members present today are Matthew Bommarito, Arica Aiello, and Emily Doucette.  Arica spoke to the club.

 

Makeups

 

Bll Flygare made up on-line.

Rotarians can now make up online. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org and allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup. Make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your online makeup, and give your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

 

Chris Costello and Eric Noble celebrated their birthdays today.  David McKechnie is celebrating 25 years in business at Beauport Financials.

 

Vacations

Terri Jones spent 5 days in San Francisco.  Marc Sandler spent 10 days in Florida.  Leo Bergeron spent 4 days in Daytona Beach.

 

Happy Thoughts

Bill Flygare was happy his leg surgery went well.  Bill was also happy that Governor Patrick appointed him as a Justice of the Peace, and he can now perform weddings.  Brian McCook was happy that a roof that Precision Roofing installed withstood the 87 MPH wind gust during the last storm.  Greg Bover was happy the Sawyer Free Library's Captain Courageous event went so well.  All locations of the readings had good attendance.  Sue Ellis was happy for the beautiful weather last Saturday and Sunday.  Tony Corrao was happy to have breakfast with Miss Pada.  Rudy Macchi was happy to be well and healthy after his recent operation.  (We are all happy too, Rudy!)

 

Fines

 

Acting President Tony Corrao fined Matt Langis and Rick Doucette for photos in the paper.  Mike Costello once again had a cookie fine imposed.  Members who did not give a Happy Thought in the past year were fined.  Sue Ellis had a late fine imposed.

 

Club News

March       16  Corned Beef dinner, Irish soda bread, and Irish lemon cake

March       23  President Ruth returns!  Tropical Tuesday - Coconut shrimp with tropical sauce, coconut rice, and mango mousse

March       30  Baked fish, roasted red potatoes, salad, strawberry shortcake.

April            6  First Lunch at Cruiseport!  Buttermilk fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, fruit with creme fraiche

May      1    Paint and Scrape the Band Stand at Stage Fort Park - Saturday starting at 6:30 am till12:00 noon.

May       11  Today is "Significant Other" day at Rotary.  Take the opportunity to take your "Significant Other" to Rotary for lunch.  A day to share your Rotary experience with your spouse, partner or significant other.

 

ABC of Rotary Moment

 

Marc Sandler is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Bob Ryan is first backup, George Roark is the second backup, and the third backup is Mike Sarraf. Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.

Winners and Losers: Barry Pett gave the Rotary Moment today.  David Babson won the $10.00, Bob Ryan won the flowers, Don Sudbay Jr. won the anonymous $40.00 gift.  (Jamaican currency, worth about a buck)  and no winners in the card raffle today.

Speaker today: Ann Grassetti spoke about DECCA and its marketing programs at Gloucester High School.
