Happy Thoughts

Charlene Glynn was happy when she forgot her purse with all her documents and money in in a taxi cab in Paris, and the taxi cab driver returned it to her hotel.

Josh Arnold was happy to be walking again.  Josh is also happy that his daughter's basketball team finished their season undefeated.

Barbara and Bob Ellis are happy to be going to Ireland for 5 weeks.

John Dugger was happy to be selling tickets at Shaw's this week.

Ruth Pino called fellow Rotarian Tony Carrao to block up the squirrel's winter motel in her church. Tony, as always, completed the mission. Ruth was also happy that Father Bullock, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church,  is on the mend and feeling better. Ruth was also happy to have worked the Open Door kitchen, the bowling event held by the Interact Club to raise foodstuffs, and the honor of becoming a Director in our club.  According to the scheudle,  Ruth will be President in 2009.

Dennis Acker was happy to announce that he and his wife are purchasing their first house.

Mike Costello was happy but a little sad that his "baby" boy played in and won his last collegiate basketball game and also scored the most points during the game.  The final score was 76 to 75.

Barry Pett was happy that Interact member Jon Blair received a ROTC Navy Scholarship to Purdue.  Barry remembered he also received an ROTC scholarship 35 years ago.

Cheryl Collins was happy that today feels like spring.

Anniversaries & Birthdays

Charlene Glynn and Josh Arnold celebrated their birthdays today.  Barbara and Bob Ellis are celebrating 43 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Jim Marr is celebrating his one year anniversary of retirement as our Chief of Police.

Fines

Members not participating in the Open Door or the Interact Bowling were fined today.

President Greg also handed out his late fines today.

Vacations

Charlene Glynn was surprised by her hubby with a birthday trip to Paris.

David Babson went to Sunny River for some skiing.

Sue Todd went to Washington on business.

Joe Paris went skiing with his children and managed to come back in one piece.

A Rotary Moment

Sue Todd was awarded her Sustaining Member pin by President Greg.

The next Rotary Moment will be given by Julie Sidon followed by Don Sudbay Jr., and Becky Sumner.

Club News

The club will assemble on May 8th at the Stage Fort Park Band Stand for the annual fixer-upper.  Please sign up with Joe Parisi.

April 28 is the District Conference.  Officers of the club are asked to attend.  The conference is in Danvers and starts at 3:15 pm.  Don Sudbay is putting together a van for a car pool.  Please contact Joe Ciolino to signup. The club will pay all expenses for attendees.

Winners and Losers... Dennis Acker won the beverage of choice. Dave Stotzer won the money, and the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

Speakers....  Joanne Carbone and Donna Morris gave their classification speeches today.

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on baked haddock and vegetables.  The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the dinners suggested it was perfect.
