Interact Club

Interact members were not present today.

  

Makeups

3 makeups were reported today.  David Stotzer made up at Interact,  Brian McCook made up in Orinda, California, and  Roger Corbin made up in Marlborough.

 

Rotarians can now make up on line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

No birthdays were reported today.  Ed Collard is celebrating 25 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Ed says he would do it all over again.  Eric Noble was happy to be celebrating his 1 year anniversary of working at the Golden Living Center. 

 

Vacations

Ruth Pino spent 5 days in Florida.  Jon Morse spent 10 days in Virginia. Rick Doucette spent 7 days in Florida.  Matt Langis spent 4 day in Myrtle Beach.  Carol Sharoff spent 3 days at Sunday River.  John Duggan went to Orlando Florida.  John thought that Orlando was bird heaven -  snow birds, John?  David Babson spent 10 days in St. Kitts. 

 

Happy Thoughts

President Sinikka was happy the Bandstand and Children's Park projects at Stage Fort are all completed.  Barry Pett was happy to have the Gloucester Fund be the beneficiary of a "Thank You" party for Tony Verga's 30 years of public service.  Todd Tanger was happy to announce that Caroleand Jon Morse have been nominated for Small Business Persons of the Year.  Jon Morse was happy to be nominated.  Tony Verga was happy to be honored at his "Thank You" celebration.  Roger Corbin was happy to show the District's Group Study Exchange members around town.  Roger thought the group was delightful.  Bruce Horne was happy to take the mothers in his life to Elliot's for a jazz lunch.  Jim Marr was happy to be on a ladder next to Kim Spanner, who was wearing flip flops.  Christopher Farmer was happy about the Student Art Festival and the Silent Aucton that took place.  Todd Tanger was happy about an after-school board program.  

 

Fines

Maggie Rosa, Charle Foster, and Barry Pett were all issued photo fines.  Bob Ryan was fined for not bringing his niece, Heidi Dallin, to Rotary more often.  Tony Corrao and Roger Corbin went to the Elks once again this week.  Members not wearing their pins were fined.

     This year we will be honoring Donald E. Sudbay Jr. at a special dinner on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Elks at Bass Rocks. Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 pm followed by dinner at 6:30 pm. Dinner will include appetizers, salad, buffet dinner and dessert. Cost: $45.00 per person. Gloucester Rotary Club members can deduct $12.00 from cost of dinner. Please fill out below and return with payment by May 22nd. Checks payable To GLOUCESTER ROTARY CLUB.

Winners and Losers -  David Babson gave an·ABC of Rotary Moment.·Steve Kaity won the money, and David Stotzer won the ink pen.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 


 Speaker today: Roger Armstong introduced our speaker, Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk.  Mayor Kirk talked about the State of the City and 2010 City Budget.
