Club News
The club once again gathered at the band stand in Stage Fort Park for our annual painting and cleanup. Members scraped, brushed and painted, other members did the landscaping work. Thank you to all the members who participated. The band stand is gorgeous again just in time for Scott Chernov's wedding next month.
The board of directors voted to fund a series of concerts for the band stand this summer. The club will pay for half and is seeking individuals or companies to help out with the other half of the money. Please see Steve Dexter for the details.
Jon Morse gave out some financials today reporting we netted $10,000 for the super market sweep. The park project has $13,342.97 raised so far. Good job to all the members for such an outstanding effort.
The DPW director Joe Parisi and the Parks and Recreation manager Mark Cole have asked if we can help out with the children's play ground at Stage Fort Park this year. Some minor painting and maintenance will help get the playground ready for summer. The Parks and Rec Dept is understaffed and would appreciate the assistance. The effort would be like the bandstand, a morning landscaping and painting job. We will discuss the cleanup at next Tuesday's meeting.
June 4th is the night for this year's Paul Harris Award. Please see Jim Perry to reserve a seat.
Winners and Losers... Janice Beachman won the beverage of choice. Somebody won the money, and Becky Sumner won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... The club had a business meeting today.
Lunch Rating... Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on (not reported) lunch. The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars. When asked what would improve the meal the dinners suggestion was (not reported) also.
