Interact Club
Interact members lead by Co President Molly Griffin ran the fine portion of our meeting today. Rudy Macchi, Jim Marr, Joe Parisi, Peter Anderson and the Board of Directors were all hit.

Shirley Conway made up on line, Brad Pierce and Bill Flygare made up at Manchester/Essex.

Vacations
John Dugger vacationed in Rochester, Vermont. Rudy Macchi spent two weeks in Aruba. Joe Parisi spent one week in the Dominican Republic. Donald Saunders went to Rome and then to Norway to visit the in-laws. Brad Pierce spent another weekend at the Custom House in Boston.
Happy Thoughts
Steve Kaity had his Chamber President hat on and was happy for Brad Pierce being honored as the Gloucester Small Businessman of the year 2008. Donald Saunders, Christopher Farmer and John Dugger were happy with bird sightings. Barry Pett was happy for the Red Sox no hitter. Julie LaFontaine was happy to thank everyone for participating in this year's Empty Bowl Fundraiser. The event raised $24,000 and 1000 people were served. Julie was also happy the US Postal Carriers collected 14,000 pounds of goods for the pantry. Howard Frisch was happy Charlie Foster's operation went well. Mike Linquata was happy his granddaughter graduated from Villa Nova. Christopher farmer was happy that Mike Linquata offered to show him around Gloucester.
Fines
Interact Club members fined fast and furious today, all in fun and for a good cause! The Interact Club received the fine money today.

Howard Frisch is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Sal Frontiero is first backup, Julie Geary is the second backup, and the third backup is Mark Grenier. Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.
Winners and Losers... Bill Flygare gave an ABC of Rotary Moment. Marc Sandler won the money, and Steve Kaity won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Thomas Warren, a Fisheries Biologist with the National Marine Fisheries spoke about fishery management. Mr.. Warren talk about how the fishing industry got into its slump and how much the NOAA has unintentionally greased the skids helping with the decline of fishing in New England.
