Visiting Rotarians

     Ingrid Brown and Peter Anderson were visiting from the Rockport Club, Bill Kielbasa was visiting from the Salem Club, and Chris Costello was visiting from the Manchester/Essex Club. 

 

Guests of Rotarians

     Rotarians had no guests today. 

 

Interact Club

    Interact members were not present today.

 

Makeups

    Don Sudbay Jr. made up in Rockport, and Dave Stotzer and Scott Chernov made up at Interact. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     Rotarians had no birthdays to celebrate today. :- (

 

Vacations

     Todd Tanger spent four days in St. Petersburg, Florida, David Babson went to Martha's Vineyard,  Matt Langis went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Dave Kenny took a motorcycle trip to Vermont and Canada. 

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

      Josh Arnold was happy to have scored a contract with the third largest semiconductor company.  Congrats Josh!  Roger Armstrong was happy about the North Shore Arts Association.  Don and Genie Sudbay are grandparents again.  John Dugger was happy to finish a project he was working on and even happier to manage to print it off.  Mike Costello was happy that John did not have a sling on today. Pat Thorpe was happy to play in the Chamber's Golf Tournament.  Mike Costello was happy to announce the selections for this year's Small Business Person of the Year for Gloucester, Essex, Rockport and Manchester.  Joe Parisi was happy to announce his daughter was voted in as the Co-President of the Interact Club for next year.  David McKecnnie is happy that two of his employees had their babies and all is fine.  Julie LaFontaine was happy to announce her daughter is in an advanced placement program in school. Brad Pierce was happy that nobody got hurt at the Chamber's golf game.  Julie Geary was happy that she settled with her insurance company.     

    Fines

      President Elect Don gave out a fine for any Rotarians who did not show up to help with the bandstand project. 

    

     Club News

      May 17 is Paul Harris Dinner this year.  Please join us in honoring Jon Morse, Charlie Foster, and the Interact's Nominee, GHS Principal Joe Sullivan.  Save the date! Check with Joe Parisi to sign up.  New members- this is a very important evening for the club, please come stag, with a spouse or significant other, just make sure you attend please.No regular meeting will be held on Tuesday the 16th, the Paul Harris Dinner will count as our meeting.

      May 20 is the day for the First Parish Cemetery Cleanup.  The club has taken to cleaning up  this historic cemetery located on Centennial Avenue.  Bruce Horne heads up this project for the club, please see him to sign up. 

       May 30 is the day the Interact Club will run our meeting.  Traditionally, fines are flying fast and furious.  It is advised that you stop at your ATM before coming to the meeting.  It is a fun day, and all the fines (money)  go to the Interact Club. 

       Remember please, President Jim has asked that members participate in these club events. 

      June 6 at 6 PM is the date and time for the last Director's Meeting in President Jim's year.  The meeting is very significant in that the funds we have all been raising this year are disbursed by the club's directors.  The evening will be a pot luck supper. Board Members and  spouses or significant others are encouraged to attend.  The location is  at Casa Ciolino, 28 High Popples Road. Check with President Jim for details.      


Winners and Losers...  No one  gave a Life Refection today.  Joe Ciolino won the money, and Becky Sumner won the flowers.  Our newest member, Dan Ottenhemer, won today in the card raffle.

 


Speakers....  John Bjorlie gave an interesting talk about the Cape Ann Symphony and its plans for the new season.
