Vacations
Mike Sarraf took a short trip to Dallas, Texas. David Babson went to Seattle, Washington. Julie LaFontane went to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, visiting her old family farm. Roger Armstrong went to Atlanta to have Thanksgiving with his daughter. David McKechnie spent 4 days in New Hampshire.
Happy Thoughts
Steve Dexter was happy to announce the birth of his newest grandchild, Cole Perkins Dexter. Congrats to all the Dexters. Mike Costello was happy to attend the ground breaking ceremony for the new NOA building at Blackburn Industrial Park.. Tom Siemers had an unhappy thought for us today - he is taking a job in Iowa and will be leaving Gloucester. Today was his final meeting with us, but all is not lost - Tom will be transferring his membership to his new home town once he gets settled. Thank you Tom for all your club involvement and fellowship these past years. David Babson was happy to see his daughter defend her thesis for a PHD in Oceanic Physics. David was one proud daddy. Julie LaFontaine was happy to distribute (through the Food Pantry) 473 turkeys and 21,837 pounds of food. The GHS Interact Club has boxed and shelved 115,740 pounds of food in the five years the group has been volunteering at the Cape Ann Food Pantry. Christopher Farmer was happy that School Committee member Jonathan Pope was out of the hospital.
Fines
Brad Pierce was fined for a cell phone incident last week. Carole Sharoff was fined for some "challenged" driving. President Don fined David Stotzer and Bruce Bain for talking business during our meeting. Joe Parisi did not tell his wife about his card raffle windfall. (He claims he forgot!)
Club News
President Don inducts our newest member, Dom Nicastro
Joe Parisi won the card raffle last week, splitting $2000 plus with the Club. Joe also donated $500 of his winnings to the Stage Fort Park Project. Thank you, Joe, for your generosity.
