Happy Thoughts
Barry Pett was happy to thank Tony Corrao for the creation of Thomas the Train which was the star of this year's Christmas parade. Barry was also happy that a medical procedure he endured fixed him up for another 8 to 10 years.(nice warranty!). Barry was also happy he talked to Bruce Horne to seek out his cardiologist. Roger Armstrong was happy to have spent 6 days in Atlanta. Mike Linquata was happy to say his winter home survived the hurricane season. Julie LaFontane was happy about the success of the Fall Food Drive at our local food pantry. David McKechnie was happy his office staff is growing - the office staffers are all "with child." Cheryl Collins was happy she has lost 37 pounds. Congrats Cheryl. Tony Corrao was happy that the GDT's covered the Christmas parade.
Fine
Joe Ciolino was fined for getting the date of the Christmas party wrong in the last Rotator. President Jim fined the same Rotarians for not wearing seat belts. Keep it up non-seatbelt wearing Rotarians, you are building up a pretty nice scholarship fund!
Club News
Cheryl Collins, our Sargent at Arms, is ordering new Rotary pins for Rotarians who have lost or misplaced their pins. The cost will be $5.00. Cheaper than paying the "not wearing a pin "fine.
The Rotary Christmas Party at the Cape Ann Bowling Lanes will be held on Wednesday December 14, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Come for bowling, food, drink, and lots of fun! Santa will make a special appearance for the children. Classic Cooks will provide a special holiday buffet dinner with refreshments. Member cost: $16.00, non-members cost: $30.00. Please call Julie for reservations @ 978-283-3377 or email classiccookcater@aol.com. Please make reservation by Monday, December 12. Santa's gift for your child can be dropped off at the bowling center in advance of the 14th.
Winners and Losers... No winner of the beverage of choice. Roger Armstrong won the money, and Bruce Bain won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Tom Ellis, owner and operator of the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon, spoke about the Essex Ship Building Museum.
