Meeting Report: Gloucester Rotary Club October 10, 2006
Visiting Rotarians
Ron Gary was visiting from the Lexington Club.
Guests of Rotarians
Bruce Horne had our guest speaker, Paul Lundberg, as his guest today.
Interact Club
Interact members members were not present today's meeting.
Makeups
Marc Sandler, Steve Dexter, Bruce Horne, Joe Ciolino, Jim Marr, Don Sudbay Jr., Mike Linquata, Jim Perry, Sinikka Nogelo, Cheryl Collins Aparo, Charlie Currier, Josh Arnold, Brad Pierce, Rick Doucette, Brian McCook, Joe Parisi, Greg Bover, Rudy Macchi, Mary Black, Don Sudbay Sr., Carol Sharoff, and Steve Kaity all attended the Past President's Dinner.
Birthdays & Anniversaries
Greg Bover celebrated his birthday today. Josh Arnold is celebrating 21 "wonderful" years of marriage. Matt Langis is celebrating 8 "wonderful" years of marriage, Dave Stotzer is celebrating the 19th anniversary of Cape Ann Photography. David Rose and wife Nancy celebrated 42 "wonderful" years of marriage. The winner of the anniversary "most time put in" this week is Charlie and Marylyn Foster with a golden 50 "wonderful" years of marriage. Congrats to all.
Vacations
President Don went on a short trip to St Louis; Don went to see the International Bowling Hall of Fame while he was there. (I guess that technically the vacation now is a deductible business trip. Am I correct Howard?) David Babson went to Martha's Vineyard once again. Howard Frish needed a rest after his big trip to Russia, so Newport filled the bill. Julie Geary went golfing in Vermont. John Dagger went to Vermont, and Kevin McAveeney went to New York City for a wild weekend with friends. Dave Stotzer once again visited Mt. Dessert Island in Maine. Cheryl Collins Aparo took 4 days off to just work around the homestead.
Happy Thoughts
Don Sudbay Jr., was happy that the car that lost its front wheel in front of the Elks during last Tuesday's meeting was not a GM or Chrysler product. The car was a fine product from South Korea, the kind which unfortunately tends to lose a wheel once in a while. Sinikka Nogelo was happy the Columbus Day weekend Studio Tour held in town went well. Sinikka was also happy her math teacher daughter is putting together a math dance team in her school. Steve Kaity was a proud daddy once again today as his daughter had a perfect score on the math MCASS test, plus a high score in Advanced Language Arts. Matt Langis was happy to have made a decision to take his family to Boston's TD Banknorth Arena for the Big Apple Circus. (The other choice would be a 2 hour traffic jam to get into the Topsfield Fair.) Dan Ottenheimer was happy his parents were back in their home after a recent fire.
Fines
President Don fined members who have not signed up to attend the Past President's Dinner. Club members who have not sent out a solicitation letter to a person for the Stage Fort Park Project were also fined.
