Visiting Rotarians

     Dave Singleton and Dave Pearson were visiting from the Manchester / Essex Club.  Chuck Marvin from the Haverhill Club was visiting, as was Ben Morgan from the Putnam, Connecticut Club.

     Sue Ellis had our speaker today as her guest, Betsy Giannoccaro.

 

 

 Interact Club

     Interact Club members present are  Arica Aiello and Chase KellyChase spoke about the Interact's Lobster Roll Fundraising event. 

 

 

Makeups

    Don Sudbay made up in Rockport.

    Rotarians can now make up on line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

    John Rando, Bruce Horne and Greg Bover celebrated their birthdays this week.   

 

Vacations

    Pat Thorpe went to Scottsdale Arizona.  Roger Corbin took off for 2 days.  David Slade went to Martha's Vineyard. John Dugger went to Rochester, Vermont.  Sinikka Nogelo spent 1 night in Williamstown.  Don Sudbay went to Lake Winnipesaukee. David Babson spent 5 days in Martha's Vineyard.  David Marsh spent 11 hours in Brooklyn. 

 

Happy Thoughts

 

David Slade was happy one of his daughters and grand-children were able to attend a family reunion. Bank Gloucester's latest fundraising event went well, reported Pat Thorpe.  Bank Gloucester gave away $15,000 to 15 Gloucester organizations.  Greg Bover is happy to be celebrating his 40th class reunion.   Terri Jones was happy to go to her 40th high school reunion.  Sue Ellis was happy about a $10,000 match.  Meredeth Fine was happy to have attended a meeting of the Gloucester Educational Foundation.

 

 

Fines

   Pat Thorpe was fined for his picture in the paper.  Rotarian who are members of the Elks were  fined by President Ruth

 

Club News

Here’s lunch for the next several weeks

 

October  20   Pot Roast Dinner, Irish lemon cake for dessert

October  27   Acorn squash stuffed with chicken and risotto, salad and cupcakes for dessert

November 03  Soup and sandwich.  Lemon meringue pie for dessert

November 10  Turkey dinner, pie for dessert.(This meeting is in City Hall Auditorium)

November 17  Chicken Picatta with rice and salad.  Apple crisp for dessert

 Interact Lobster Roll fundraiser is October 22 and 23.  Sign up sheets will be available on the tables at Rotary. 

 

 ABC of Rotary Moment

 Sheree Delorenzo is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Ann-Margaret Ferrante  is first backup, Meredith Fine is the second backup, and the third backup is John Morris. Please have your  ABC of Rotary Moment  ready.

 


Winners and Losers:    Howard Frisch gave the Rotary Moment today.  John Rando won the $10.00, Roger Corbin won the flowers and gave them to our speaker today, and no winners in the card raffle.

 

 

Speaker today:  Sue Ellis introduced our speaker today, Betsy Giannoccaro.  As manager for the Campaign for the Shalin Liu Performance Center,  Betsy is the daily public face of the campaign.
