    Brian McCook had Joan Whitney from the Gloucester Board of Health Substance Abuse Program as his guest.  Brian also had a group of young people representing the North Shore Recovery High School in Beverly.   Ruth Pino had a guest, and Tony Corrao had Doug as his guest. 

 

Interact Club

          Interact members present today were Shannon O'Donnell and Quinn O'NeilQuinn spoke about his family, high school activities and future college plans. 

 

Makeups

     No makeups were reported today.     

    Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted. 

 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     Bruce Horne, Julie LaFontaine, and Barry Pett all celebrated their birthdays today.  Joe  Ciolino is celebrating 20 "wonderful" years of marriage. 

 

Vacations

      John Dugger spent 3 days in Montréal, Tony Corrao visited New Jersey, and  David Slade spent 3 days in California visiting the daughters. 

                                                      

Happy Thoughts

    Julie LaFontaine was happy to have had the opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil  in Boston.  Julie was also happy that her daughter was able to attend.  Sinikka was happy that Julie wrote up our District grant proposal and submitted the grant on time. 

 

 Fines

    Don Sudbay was fined for advertising his business.  Members who went to the Elk's instead of Cruiseport were fined.  President Sinikka gave Mike Costello a cookie fine for having a treat before we said grace.  Rotarians not wearing a pin were fined  today.

 ABC of Rotary Moment

    

     Ruth Pino is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary MomentJohn Rando is first backup, George Roark is the second backup, and the third backup is Bob Ryan. Please have your   ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 


Winners and Losers...   Barry Pett  gave an ABC of Rotary Moment.  Christopher Farmer won the money, and Charlie Foster won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.


Speakers....  Student from the North Shore Recovery High School, located in Beverly, spoke about their addiction and recovery.  Today was the second in a series of three sessions on substance abuse on Cape Ann.
