Happy Thoughts
President Don was happy the Past President's Dinner went so well, and thanked Jim Marr and Joe Ciolino for putting the dinner together. Don was also happy he started working out at the Manchester Athletic Club. (The last time he was there in the mid 70's he remembered seeing Brad Pierce in a hot tub.) Matt Langis is happy after a recent illness, his wife is feeling much better . Scott Chernov was happy the Interact Lobster Roll promotion went well. A report will be given later. Greg Bover was happy to be elected to the Board Of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce. Cheryl Collins was happy to have won a bid supplying Varian with its safety glass program. Christopher Farmer was happy to have David Marsh involved in amassing a data base of the alumni of Gloucester High School. Christopher is also happy that a city wide music program is starting to take hold. Ruth Pino was happy she won a medal for her garden from the Gloucester Garden Council. Ruth is also happy that Todd Tanger has agreed to become the Vice President of the Chamber.

Ruth Pino was fined for the reoccurring ad which appears on the back of the Chamber of Commerce newsletter. (Word is the photo is a litter bit on the old side - unlike Ruth of course.) Rotary Moment

Winners and Losers... David Babson gave a Rotary Moment. Rudy won the money, and Joe Parisi won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers....President Don introduced the Committee representing the Community Preservation Act - Al Johnson, Maggie Rosa, Cathy Leahy, and Sandy Ronan. Al talked about the committee's efforts to put the CPA on the November 2007 ballot. The CPA, if voters pass it, would add to tax bills but would enable Gloucester to apply for money from the state to preserve historic sites in our city. Rockport, Manchester, and Essex already participate in the CPA.
