 Birthdays & Anniversaries

Dave Stotzer celebrated his birthday today, John Dugger celebrated 7 "wonderful" years of marriage. And for the second week in a row, Joe Ciolino forgot his own wedding anniversary of 16 years. (Luckily, his wife sometimes edits the Rotator online and can catch these things. I assume he will be fined accordingly, Jim Marr, President-elect? Thanks, I know you'll take care of it, you were there for me last year when he forgot my birthday. Joan)

Vacations

Dennis Acker spent 1 week in Gloucester, Carole Sharoff spent 5 days in San Francisco, Sue Todd spent 1 week in Hilton Head, David Slade went to San Francisco, Mark Grenier went to Cooperstown, Mike Gigliotti went to Hoboken, New Jersey, and David Stotzer went to Freeport, Maine.

Happy Thoughts

John Scuccimarra was happy to become a first time Sudbay customer with the purchase of his latest automobile.  Cheryl Collins checked with her children about our holiday party and they are eager to come.  David McKechnie was happy to be a "go Sox" fan.  Don Sudbay was seriously impressed with our dessert today, saying " it was the best dessert he has ever tasted." Bruce Horne was happy to have seconds on our fine dessert today. Ruth Pino was happy to be young enough to enjoy the Red Sox victory, and old enough to remember how long it took to get there. Howard Frisch was happy to have had tickets to last Saturday's Red Sox game.  Howard was also happy that the Pancake Breakfast netted $4476.00, up from last year's total.

Fines

President Joe fine Josh Arnold for a spelling error in one of many calendar e-mailings.   A fine was issued for any Rotarian who was not wearing any Red Sox insignias or colors.

    Club News

Thank You   Catherine Henry for taking Notes for the Rotator this week!

Club members were out in force for Herb Goodick's Memorial Service this past Saturday.  The club formed an honor guard for the many attendees entering the church for  the service.  Jim Marr did an exceptional job eulogizing Herb as the friend and fellow Rotarian we all knew.  The board will decide at our next meeting how to properly memorialize Herb.  Rest in peace, fellow Rotarian Herb Goodick.

 Stage Fort Park Centennial Project

Please consider signing on as a sponsor!  Gold level sponsors a table for  $1000, Silver level sponsors a bench for $650, Bronze level plants a tree for $400.  All sponsors will be acknowledged on a display at the playground.

Winners and Losers... No won the beverage of choice,  Steve Dexter won the money, and John Scuccimarra won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

Speakers.... Josh Arnold introduced our guest speaker today, Greg Bach, the director of Technology Service for the City of Gloucester's School Department, and head of the Cable Advisory Committee which will make recommendations of renewal the current cable license on Cape Ann.

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on chicken with pasta, sun dried tomatoes and pudding cake with whipped cream.  The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the diners suggested

a separate plate for the salad.
