Happy Thoughts

Sal Frontiero was happy to inform us he was chosen as the Second Vice President to the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.  Sal is scheduled to be the President in 2011.  John Dugger was happy the logo he submitted to the Chamber was selected for use in an upcoming birding outing.   Matt Langis was happy  to report a lockdown that happened in the Newburyport Schools went well and without incident.  Brad Pierce was happy to have attended a Patriots game last week.  Jon Morse was happy to report that his cataract surgery went well.  Julie LaFontaine was happy a donor is going to match up to $5000 in funds donated to the Food Pantry.  John Dugger was commiserating with Mike Costello about their respective college's looser football teams this year.

 Fines

John Rando was fined for giving up his shorts before the deadline he gave President Sinikka.  Rotarians who did not participate in the Mystery Dinner were fined.  Rotarians not wearing their Rotary Pins were fined.

    Club News

.    President Sinikka inducted a new member today, Jim Cooke.  Please take a moment to introduce yourself and welcome Jim to Rotary.

The students of DECCA were presented a check for $400 from our June distribution today.  The funds will be used as seed money to start up a student store at the high school.

President Sinikka presented Jon Morse with a bottle of champagne left over from the night of the Mystery Restaurant fund raiser.

The Christmas Party Committee would like your opinion on  new options for this year's soiree.  We will continue with the same party at the bowling ally with bowling, children's presents by parents or grandparents, Santa's visit, light dinner and spirits.  It has been suggested that our Christmas party also host the members of the Interact Club during this seasonal celebration.

Please inform the committee of any ideas or suggestion for the party; submit by email if you choose. The committee would also like to know if any members would be interested in having a very casual cocktail party after the holidays for adults only, just as a fun sort of wind down after the holidays.  Please inform Julie Geary about your thoughts and ideas.  Julie@classiccooks.com
